Fashion Illustration 005 - Leather and Satin Fantasy Dress With Buckles (Process & Video) With Preview.

Greetings Hive

Some of these designs will be pretty out there, this is one of them. I would definitely not wear this one outside!

Long satin fantasy dress with soft leather belts and buckles.

The next few are a little bit more realistic and very summery. I am quite excited about getting to draw the wedding dress.

The original idea I liked but the actual drawing needed A LOT of improvement

The shoes needed changing, I probably tried at least four different ideas before settling on some basic knee length boots with cut out detail.

Cleaned up ink drawing and original for comparison

Cleaned up ink drawing ready for painting, I need to go back to studying cloth folds and movement again a little bit, just to improve the way I draw the skirts, constant improvement and learning is a must.

Mostly flat colours without details, for comparison. The original colours are very much part of the design, so I left them unchanged.

No shading except for the black which i am not completely happy with, the paint marker is great but having had to top it up with water, in combination with using plain old printing paper to draw on (use what you have, art will not be held back by lack of supplies!) makes it difficult to get a smooth finish. The technique on the front of the skirt works better than that on the back but I will keep experimenting until it either looks good or I can add a few more pens to my collection.

The final work vs the original. I am very happy with the shading on the brown and, thanks to some advice from @alonicus about adding some turquoise to black (which I did not have) I had the idea to use dark blue to add a little bit more depth and definition to the darker parts of the black. (Thank you!)

The final upgraded design, except for the black paint issues and not quite right skirt folds, I like it a lot. Definitely want those boots for myself. Would like to be able to make shoes!

Of course, the video. Does anyone know of any free decent software for creating videos on Windows PC? Also something for EASILY (I have no experience) creating music for the videos? Advice will be appreciated.

That's it for now, thanks for reading!

Till next time!

I like it ! But then I've always thought that less is more, especially when it comes to clothes 😁

For music to add to your videos, I'd definitely suggest browsing through the huge catalogue of copyright-free tracks created by @ravenmus1c (another one of my favourite Hivers !) - https://v3.ecency.com/hive-193816/@ravenmus1c/complete-music-catalogue-part-1-or-panda-beats is a good starting point.
