Liar

There is this friend of mine who lies all the time for no reason at all, to the point it's fucken hard to know if any of the words coming out of his mouth is true. So you might be wondering, why is he your friend then?
Well it's a long story I won't tell, but we kind of grew up together and that stuff, so, some affective links got created since childhood and stuff, besides he turned into a compulsive liar way later, so, I adapted to believe not a word from him and keep going as if nothing happened.

Most of his lies rounded around his life and supposed achievements in it, where he got money from, what ridiculous brand of whiskey he drank, what personality he met, the hot girlfriend he picked up, stuff like that you know. Not that anybody asked him about that, cause everyone already knew what his short leg was, but, he just kept showing up and shooting lies around (like the gun pictured above) , that nobody gave a shit but himself.

Time has passed and we have become mature and grown up men, so did his lies. Recently we talked on the phone, cause I must say we live about 60 miles away from each other(God thank you😁) in two different cities. Well, I said, when he asked how I was doing, that I was unemployed and finding a job was getting hard these days, so he was like...Oh why didn't you call me to tell me that, I have a lot of opportunities for you here, I'm making a lot of money, right now I'm drinking a ridiculous brand of whiskey some client gave me as a gift, you know I could had gone yo Italy and didn't because I didn't want to... yes I know, lies continued falling down as rain drops in all directions and I won't list them all cause a post wouldn't be enough, wtf has to do Italy with me unemployed anyway?

His daughter's mother lives in Italy, they are separated, everyone knows that, and he keeps saying she's crazy about him waiting and asking all the time for him to go to Italy to reunite with her, nonsense!!!.

In a short meeting we had a couple of months ago, when he came by to visit his family in our home town, we had a coffee together and some chat to catch up. He told me he had earned a huge amount of money in I don't remember what virtual place(casino or something) and stuff. I must say that, when he starts lying about money earnings, if there's any chick close by, like there was that coffee day, he raises his voice out so she can hear it, starts to screw up his mouth and look towards the chick with the corner of the eye to ensure she's listening, not that she cares about that either, but he thinks she does. In times like this one I feel ashamed of being around that show.

Well, a couple of days after the coffee event happened he sent me a whatsapp message asking for money to return home, he said he needed $ 3000.00, I said no way, cause I didn't have that amount, but if I had had, I would've said no as well, cause I knew that money wasn't ever gonna return back to my needed working hands, but a question crossed my mind. Where did the huge amount of money you earned at the casino go?

But I'm an old silent dog who knows the behavior of this other old barking dog, they say that barking dog ain't bitting dog, anyway, what I keep wondering myself, not just for my friend, but for all those who are like him too,...why? Why do they do that?

I mean, I won't go crying around when I'm doing bad, but I won't be going shouting out screwed mouthed around any of my successes either, there is a small circle of loved people worthy to share our deepest truths, either fails or successes. But mainly and above all, I wouldn't be making up false stories to try to impress anyone or to acomplish anything by creating false spectatives of who I am. The thing about lies is that there comes a time when they become your life, your reality so you strongly believe yourself the story you're making up to show off, and up to that point brother, I guess you're lost in that fantasy world and the worst thing is that, like me, that I switch off when my liars detector turns on, the rest of them around you will pay no attention or take your word as serious and believe me, your word will be worthless, and that's an unacceptable fact when it comes to the word of a man.
So, have you met anyone around who behaves like that?
