Hello, a big greeting to this community where I write in for the first time and hopefully not the last one. I am very happy to be here, I am an inveterate lover of the seventh art, capable of spending many hours in front of a screen if life dynamics would allowed it. As a child it was a bit difficult for me to enjoy the full animated on television, first because the TV at home was in black and white and then because it broke and a long time passed until we had another one, by that time I was no longer a child. I lived in a very quiet neighborhood where everyone got along very well and luckily the neighbors did not break their television, hahaha, almost all of them were in black and white, except for a friend who did have a colored TV at home. For a television announcement we found out that one Sunday a Japanese film called Voltes 5 would be released for the first time on our country television. The trailer they showed was very attractive, so all the children in the neighborhood were looking forward to seeing the long-awaited film and so it was, we saw it one Sunday morning at our friend's house on full color TV.

The movie.

I have always really liked fiction and action in movies, I still like it a lot, as long as it is well done, of course, when I was a child I did not have too much criteria to value certain things that I can now value, but well, that is not the essence of the post.

Voltes 5 captivated me since it started with his presentation music, I didn't understand a word of the song, but the rhythm, the voice of the woman who sang and the images I saw created in me an environment of heroic adventure battle that made my skin stand on end in an incredible way and that it flowed an energy in me that felt very good and gave me the feeling that I was also an unforgettable adventurer.

💥Here is the song💥.

The following are all screenshots made with my phone.

Later I realized it was the tune that accompanied the union of the 5 ships that conformed the wonderful Hero Protector Robot of Earth from the Boazanian Horned Race invasion.

👇Let's volt in the video 👇

I can't explain the sensations that ran through my body when I heard the song and at the same time I saw that scene of the union(Volte in) while preparing for the attack against the first Boazanian monster. It was truly amazing. I really liked the history that was created around the alien boazanian invasion of the earth with the aim of conquering it and enslaving its inhabitants. The way in which the father of the 3 brothers who was part of the crew who was driving Voltus 5 had anticipated that invasion and created the robot, a base of operations and the necessary conditions to physically and mentally prepare his boys and 2 other friends, young people who would be in charge of managing and taking Voltus 5 to war against potential invaders to protect humanity. That samurai-artillery mix that the Voltus 5 weapons had, the way the fights unfolded, the emotional load that the scenes had and above all, I really liked the detail that the period in which the V formation was made and they joined, That level of detail with the accompaniment of the song was magnificent, we were moved by like the children we were waiting for the epic battle that would take place after the transformation and that always ended with the use of the laser sword to finish the enemy with a samurai cut that outlined a shining V before the enemy exploded into pieces and Voltus remained in a magnificent stance of victorious samurai turning his back to the defeated without even looking back to see the result of his completion. I must admit that even today, at the age of 46, I see that scene of Volting in and I get goosebumps every time, it is a movie that I liked a lot and that I saw lots of times, and that after my children were born I saw several times with them again, which, despite being a very old film compared to the things that they were used to seeing with much greater development in the setting and the special effects, they liked it a lot as well and were able to appreciate what I saw in it and that made me feel for the first time those beautiful and energetic sensations in which you feel powerful and unstoppable, you go out to the yard after the end of the film, take a stick simulating a sword and undertake it with a giant tree making voices of the adventure you just saw and engaging in the fight with that enemy from which you had to defend your entire species.

The 3 brothers, their friends and family spent the movie in the search of their father that was a prisoner of the invaders since he was infiltrated there many years ago as a scientist and spy who was discovered.

In the road they fought some enemy's monsters in order to defend their home, they lost their mother in one of these battles when one of the monsters had them(Voltes) trapped in the back with some strong chains unable to move and being attacked in front of the base where their mother was watching the scene. She took a plane and crushed it to the monster to save her child's and also earth sacrificing her life in action.

As much as they tried they could never get to their father, at the end of the movie, after a battle, they get to see him in the higher tower of the enemy mother ship, they outed him there to stop Voltes from attacking the ship and got to scape.

Those above are screnshots as well

I spent years waiting for a second part of the movie, it never came, later I knew it was originally a serie with a 40 episodes, released in 1977-1978, the latter is year I was born by the way, I got to see the movie about 9 or 10 years later. Never decided to see the serie for two main reasons.

  1. I saw the film dubbed by our actors and I got used to the voices of the characters, I already felt identified with them and their voices.

  2. I was afraid the serie was too much different from the movie and might had taken away from the image and opinion already had.

So, I have always had the uncertainty of what would have been the end of the story that I was sure was to be continued, but preferred to leave it that way, besides, I was bo longer a child, even when goosebumps still show up with the song and the Volt in.

Undoubtedly, and without going into technical aspects or failures and faults that it could have had, Voltes 5 was and is my favorite animated film of childhood.

If you don't know the movie or want to watch it again, you can do it here in Spanish or here in English.
