Telegram' Mini App Store to Boost Crypto Scene
GitHub
Hey folks.
Later this month, Telegram aims to provide a web3 in-app browser and a marketplace for Telegram Mini Apps.
Pavel Durov, founder and CEO of Telegram disclosed the plans in his personal Telegram channel.
Telegram Mini Apps allow projects to deploy crypto projects directly within Telegram. These web-based apps are accessible across Android, iOS, PC, Mac, and Linux without additional installations.
They are making this move as they work to solidify their place in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. The platform has previously shown success with blockchain-based projects, especially with games that use the TON blockchain for tap-to-earn functionality.
Tens of millions of people have played these games; during the token generation event, the Notcoin game alone assisted in onboarding over a million wallets to the TON network.
Telegram has recently become a hub for tap-to-earn crypto games like Hamster Kombat etc using TON blockchain to allow users to earn crypto.
Myself also been playing Hamster Kombat for some days now hoping to get the best out of it in terms of earn some tokens.
You can also be part of (Hamster Kombat](https://t.me/haMster_kombat_bot/start?startapp=kentId6570937539).
In Durov comments, he noted that Telegram plans to fight crypto scams by displaying the registration month and primary country for public accounts like Instagram and permitting organizations to provide labels for channels.
Telegram has a significant mainstream presence with about 1 billion users worldwide, so this app store initiative is a great way to expose cryptocurrency projects to a large number of new consumers.
Telegram has the potential to become a major player in the decentralized apps market if it can capitalize on its large user base and TON blockchain.
Talking of Hamster Kombat the game already has garnered millions of accounts which is something that I see impressive and also helpful for exposure of the crypto industry.
