Adding colors to our gloomy life: Welcome to my Flower collections
Hello to my fellow @hivegarden Community, Greetings from the Philippines.

Today I am going to show you the flowers I planted myself from seeds, while I was in the city, I don't really have the space to plant or do any gardening activities, aside from the fact that I don't have enough time, soil is really different in there, now that we have a yard and the soil is very fertile (healthy) I finally tried Gardening, I started by buying seedlings, you can get it from your local hardware, mine I got from Ace Hardware, the brands are Yates and Ramgo,
I forgot to take pictures of the packets but I got some pictures from their websites and Face book pages

Gardening taught me a lot of things, and the most important of all is patience, it is something that my parents cannot even teach me, Lol. In the city everything is fast, so many things to do and only little time, people are always rushing, like 24 hours is not even enough, in the countryside, It is just like living in another world, very slow, people are very calm, in fact, when there is an outage they will just take it as a wrap up, maybe it is too windy, so time to end the day, and let's continue whatever is unfinished the next day, in the city, people would find it infuriating, what? "no AC, internet and TV? Grrr"
honestly, that's the normal life before civilization, living like you are part of the nature, standing your ground until the storm passes, because yes, no matter how strong and disastrous they are, they will just pass by, going back to gardening, it taught me to be patient as beautiful things bloom in the right time, I have planted, carnations, roses, sunflowers, daisy and more, and my mom planted fruits and vegetables,
my favorite is Carnation, the smell is heavenly, sadly Carnations aren't native in the Philippines, so the seeds I bought aren't perennial, meaning, once it bloom, the plant will wilt and die and if you want to see the flowers, you have to plant them again, (you have to keep on planting it) however, you can only plant it when the weather is cool, somewhere around November, and you have to wait for 60- 90 days for them to bloom, it depends on how good the soil is.
look at these beauties,

***The butterfly cannot help but kiss the flower, it smells so good ***
***here are the other flowers we planted, ***

the roses are so beautiful too,my Mom told me she bought white roses plant,so I was very happy when they bloomed like this, light pink roses are rare

the sunflower is not that big, compared to real sunflowers, but look, it looks like we have our own sun in the yard
***We also have the African Daisy, often called Gerbera ***

***These are what we call "Plumeria" in our native dialect we call it "Calachuchi" ***

These are Coleus and Salvias

***and lastly, the very common "Bougainvilleas" ***
you don't really have to care for them, they grow on their own, and they love sunshine very much, so it is a common plant in our country, it actually looks like cherry blossoms minus the smell, because it doesn't have a scent

Thank you for visiting my page.

Your flowers are so beautiful! And I'm so glad you got some seeds :)
Thank you so much, it's so hard to make them germinate actually, like out of 20 seeds only 2-3 would germinate, so I have to buy few more packets. Thanks so much

@haveyoumetellie, your flower collection is stunning each bloom really brings life and joy to your garden. I can totally relate to how gardening teaches patience watching plants grow slowly is such a grounding experience.
Thank you for dropping by, the sad fact is that they aren't here to stay, just like the moments in our life, so we have to appreciate them while they bloom, living in the moment.
I amazed by your carnations and sunflower; they look so bright. I also want to try planting those kinds of flowers, but I’m not sure if they will grow well here in our area. Still, your post inspired me to give it a try!
Yes, just give it a try, I never thought Carnations will grow in our country too, it takes a lot of patience as their stems are too soft, you have to help them stand up and bear the flower buds until they bloom, make sure to plant them now or until January, they like cooler weather.
