Turning a Cat into a Rabbit

In this post here I showed you our latest cat, and in it showed you the original Lego set - The Tuxedo Cat and finally I hinted that I would be rebuilding this cat into a rabbit.

So this is the tale of that build. This one is interesting, essentially it's the same body but with a different head and a different tail. So you start by disassembling those elemts from the cat and you end up with a table that looks like this - I'm astounded how many pieces are in that head

and then it's time to get building, I must admit I did think I was building the rabbits face when I started, but alas I was actually building a little cotton tail for our Rabbitty friend.

Then it was onto the head, and although it was fairly obviously fairly quickly what was being built I have to admit it had real creepy monster demon vibes for a long time, the face is far more angular and thinner than the Cat's head, with eyes moving from the front to the side. But it almost looked bird like at times.

but once it was finished and particularly once the ears were on I think it looks really good, very clever how with just rebuilding about 10% of the model you get a completely different animal - admittedly we don't really get black rabbits in Australia, but hey that all good.
