Snug Falls Tasmania

I probably knew that there wasn't really enough water for this to be amazing or breathtaking, I mean it's autumn here in Australia, if you want a good Waterfall show, with the water flowing with Gusto you might want to pick winter or spring, but I was there in April and besides it was a public holiday so it not like anything else was open.

So armed with a very ordinary rental car we set of up a dirt road just outside of the wonderfully named Snug which is about 30km south of Hobart in Tasmania, existing the car and now armed with so boots for being in the country, a Fujifilm X-T5, a 10-24mm Fujifilm Zoom lens, a N64 Filter and a tripod we set off down the path.

It was a 2km walk into the falls, down hill then back up and then down again to the valley, it was pleasant enough for the Australian bush, very dense but easy enough and then we were there, Snug Falls on the Snug river, which flows from the hills to you guessed the town of Snug.

As alluded too the falls itself was just a rivet of water this time of year, I've certainly seen shots were it is more powerful, but the surrounds were impressive, also I enjoy the fallen log across the scene, I think it adds something

It's actually fairly difficult to shot, it a real mixture of darkness at the bottom and if the sun is out, which it was periodically whilst we were there quite bright light at the top, something long exposures even with a very dark filter don't like.

There were actually quite a few people there, I've done well to crop them out, particularly towards the end of our time there, when we had a influx of about 20 people and 5 dogs and there was a look of 'I'm going to be the adventure guy and climb over to the actual falls.

Not sure the next time I'll be in Tassie, but I would return to Snug falls it's easily accessible from Hobart, is a simple walk, but enough to be good exercise, I would just want a little more water.

It is a really beautiful place where nature seems not disturb by tourists or other activities.
