Mount Wellington/Kunanyi
Most people come to Mount Wellington as it was called by the White settlers or Kunanyi in the local aboriginal dialect for the views back over the city of Hoabrt in Tasmania, but there is more to see on top of the mountain.
It's 1,271 metres above sea level, not huge by mountain standards, but it is also 14km from Hobart which in on the sea so you know it dominates the skyline.
The tundra on the tower of the mountain.
The distance looked close to walk to but let's face it , it would take a while.
The broadcast tower, which rises a further 131m above the summit
It's quite busy up here, but as with most tourist sites you walk about 50m away and the crowds disappear and it feels quite lonely and peaceful.
