Life below Poe Beach in New Caledonia - 5 photos
We had been in Poe Beach, or maybe more correctly near Poe Beach for a couple of days, there was something kinda cool about this place, a big foresore reserve were you could camp a feeling that this is where the people of Noumea might spend there weekends.
We also new there was a fair amount of sea grass in the water. It was our last afternoon and it was warm and we felt like a swim so could see from the shore that there was a thin channel between the sea grass where we thought we could swim without the danger of damaging the grass, we headed out. I took a snorkel and a camera with me more as a afterthought than anything else, we knew the reef with the coral and the fish was another 1km or so off shore and we didn't have a boat so we weren't going to see that.
But how wrong we were, as an afterthought I stuck my head under and realised that there wasn't a lot of coral and fish, but what there was was pretty darn cool, so I present to you 5 photos from under the water in Poe Beach, New Caledonia

Wow, sea life is just gorgeous and mysterious...
