CCC's Street Art Contest - Collingwood Street Art

Welcome to Collingwood, a inner city suburb of Melbourne, it's January, I'm not a work and wandering around the place camera in hand. let's see what we can find.

Well Shot 1 one of the larger pieces of street art around, that is of course Basquiat and Haring, two New York based artists and the mural itself is the work of 8 different Melbourne artists. You might wander two things....1) what do they have to do with Melbourne, well there is a link at least for Keith Haring, he actually visited Melbourne in 1984 where he did a few works, both in the NGV art Gallery but also there is a surviving Keith Haring piece in Collingwood. and 2) why are there three trains on the roof of this building, well they are three train carriages that ran in Melbourne in the 1980's - specifically they are Hitachi's - 195M, 155M and 135M and they are now Burger resturants, because well of course.

I love these piece, nice and simple, this isn't the entirety of it, but it's just street name, Keele helpful I would imagine if you are looking for it.

Serenity Now! - people in loud utes do cause me to yell this occasionally.

Love this little piece, this is just a private building, I think it was the downstairs office in a warehouse conversion apartment - I love the joy it brings though

Nice selection of StreetArt. Those three train cars on the roof are cool, they really catch the eye. Beautiful photos, especially with that blue sky; it brings a little sunshine to this winter in Montreal 😀 Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Have a great weekend
