A Laneway in Melbourne Australia and four connected artworks

These artworks have been in this laneway, largely untocuhed for what must be close to ten years now, I don't really understand how this is possible, normally street art is a organic thing a living thing. even the best pieces seem to be tagged over and the painted over in fairly quick succession, but not these ones.

Is it that they are slightly off the beaten Melbourne street art scene, not in the cool laneways which have the tourists? but surely this makes it a good spot for some clandestine painting?

The artist is Deb, who is Australian but now seems to live in California, is she so important that you wouldn't dare touch where stuff, I wouldn't have thought so. Maybe not being in Melbourne means she's not part of a crew and therefore there is no rivalry and it doesn't get painted over.
I'm not complaining of course, it's good artwork, but I am just a little surprised. particularly by this last piece, you can see there is some 'activities' happening in this alleyway from the wooden boards on the side, but again the artwork, which is called Deb by Deb and after looking at here instagram does indeed look like the artist, is completly untouched.

Nice works done by this artist. The mysteries of atreetart: sometimes murals remain "untouched" for years, and others only a few hours later... Respect, luck... I don't know.
