The Fear of crossing a bridge
He has had an encounter like that before, it was not the first time, it can all be traced down to his child age, when his parent took him to the boarding house, he will close his eyes once it gotten to the bridge along the road, he didn’t just want to look at it, so he prefer not knowing when he will be taken to cross the bridge.
Dele has grown up with this fear of crossing the bridge, and he never noticed it again, until the day he went out on a date with a girl he love so much.
He was a cattle rearer, so for more than 30 years, after his school, he has been living in the rural area, and he was not bothered, because that was the place he wants to live his life, and raised his family.
Rearing of ram and cattle was his father’s occupation, so Dele learn from him, as his father show him all that was entails to raise those animals.
He was of age of getting married, and Dele was not the type who mingle a lot, he was never that kind of a boy from young age, he always look at things with his eyes, and most times, he was not minding getting close, he was living a happy life with honesty all the time.
As the time to get married approach, he thought of who will be the lucky girl of his dream, he only has one girlfriend, and she was at that time not happy with him, because she wanted him to stop nervous habit, but it was hard for Dele to change just like that.
So, he remembers Cassandra, a quiet and beautiful girl in their class, back then in school.
He asks her out, and told her that he was ready to stop being nervous, but she was just angry with him, not because she didn’t feel something for him, but for the fact that, she wanted him to feel free with things.
Dele have to invite her, and the two love bird continue what they had, it seems, no matter what disagreement they had in the past, the love they had was still stronger between them.
Dele fixed a date, and promised to show her around when she comes, they both of them were riding on a motorcycle, but getting to a bridge which was on the road, Dele didn’t want to continue the journey again, he thought of going back home, but he didn’t want to disappoint his wife to be, so he gather courage and he rode through the bridge.
That was the first time in Dele’s life to have cross a bridge without closing his eyes. He took courage for the fact that he didn’t want his wife to be to be disappointed at him, and that later became a good thing, because since that moment, he was never afraid of passing through the bridge.
