Just like the Grimbergen phoenix, I died and reborn this weekend

This #beersaturday has been a rollecoaster. Going really up high and then crushing at all speed into the ground. But let's start with the beer.

Grimbergen double ambrée

Its recipe dates back to the 12th century, first brewed by the monks of the Norbertine abbey, based in the village of Grimbergen, in Belgium.
Its symbol is the phoenix because the abbey has been destroyed several times by fires over the centuries, but it has always been rebuilt and carried on its brewing tradition.
Again, the brand was acquired by Carlsberg in 2008, and production is currently divided among several breweries in different European countries.

that's a ceramic beer cup I like to use for drinking Belgian beers. A present from my father.

There are different varieties of Grimbergen. I've tried the blonde, the rouge and the ambrée and I have to say this last one is my favorite so far.
It has a very smooth and delicate taste. Not too fizzy, it has a caramel aroma that makes it really pleasant to drink. No particular marks to add though, it is definitely one of my favorite beers.

Another Saturday, another pizza for you. This time I ate pizza with salame, what Americans would call "pepperoni" pizza. I don't really get it why they call it pepperoni... maybe it's your kind of salame? And my question is: do Americans only have one type of salame in all US?
Because in Italy - but actually all around Europe - you can find hundreds of different varieties of salame. Salame is just a generic word to indicate the type of sausage but then every salame has its own name.
Also pepperoni is so similar to the Italian peperoni, which means bell peppers. Now you get why we are so confused about it 😂

The music: Bad Pritt

Anyway, I think my #beersaturday is like the Actifit post for somebody. I see people posting their actifit report and then use the post to talk about music. I'll do the same here, basically because I go out every weekend to some kind of music related event.
This time was a concert to celebrate the 20 years of an independent alternative Italian record label: Shyrec.

Signed to this label you can find an artist that I like to call "the artisan of synths". He makes music out of this world, a blend of aggressive noise combined with beautiful and peaceful piano parts. This is Bad Pritt

Debris is his second album. I really have no words to describe his music. Everytime I listen to him, emotions build up inside me in a bursting way.
It's like a tide that rises and rises majestically, the music floods my being, creates a very strong tension within me that is then released in the quieter parts.
The best sentence I can use is: this music makes me realize that I have a soul, because it touches it and so I realize that I have one.
If I can give you a suggestion, listen to this album only if you can do it from start to finish in a single listening session, with not many distractions. This is a trip, it's like listening to a movie.

I took the chance to buy his second album, which instead is quieter and more melancholy, composed mainly on piano.

Tragedy

I've took the picture above just before entering my car and finding out I had a flat tier. Called my insurance and the girl said that my roadside pro assistance does not cover service for a flat tire! WHAAAAAAAT?
That's really suspicious, I'm doing further checking to see if that's true or not.

So I had to call a tow truck on my own, have my car transported to a repair shop in the area I was in (an hour away from my home), and then call a cab to go back home.
On Sunday, I called a friend to take me back to the repair shop. Obviously they couldn't change just one tire, so they changed the front two. Because I had no appointment I had to wait four hours. The mechanic calls me and tells me that the brake pads are done and asked if I wanted to change them. At this point I told him yes, since he was already working on the car he might as well do that job too.

At the end, these two days cost me more than 600 Euros 🙃
How we say here in Veneto PORCO DIO

Your post title made me chuckle.

Pretty sad day for me though 😓 but luckily nothing really bad happened and I don't have money problems.
That mug is special to me and it's also hard to find the right beer for it
