Wednesday Walk - Basketball Day at the Park After Rain

I like to collect my different outdoor activities as well as indoor activities for #wednesdaywalk. Maybe the reason is I like to feel alive being in the outdoors and not just staying at home with the mundane routine.

However it has been a while I took a hiatus going out especially after both son and I got Covid as our energy needed some time to catch up. Now that we can finally resume all the workouts and running, it does something good to the body like dopamine generated. Being outdoors to breathe the air without mask is not an easy access these days.

My eldest son had been pestering me to go for basketball for some time. So during his school holidays I was determined to at least go once for him. It was a but cloudy that day and I was worried it might rain. And it DID. My boys were all changed and ready to go for basketball and football.

When my eldest saw the rain and heard the sound of it, he exclaimed in disappointment, "Why does it always have to rain when I want to play basketball? I felt him. Then he said he would pray for the weather to change which he did. He was being hopeful the rain would stop and he hoped he can see a rainbow. I told him we would still drive to the park and wait a while to see if the rain would stop. The other two cars of our friends also went.

True enough, the rain stopped and the sun came out!

And..... a RAINBOW 🌈 DID APPEARED! Never underestimate the childlike faith of a young child like him. He was of course ecstatic and shouting Hallelujah in the car!

Then off they went running. The girls even jumped on the water puddles, such fun! They started playing basketball despite the floor was still wet but the sun helped dry it up really soon. This was when we first arrived.

My youngest wanted to play football and kept asking me why there was no goal post with a net. So I improvised and asked him to imagine that the bench is a goal post and he had to defend the goal. He did a great job though half way got distracted and ran away from his goal post hahaha.

The children went all out kicking and trying to score. It was fun to watch them.

Aunty Jo then started a running race with them. Running a few rounds without tiring them at all, they asked for more. Run, children run! To your hearts' content!

Then they played hide-and-seek, and zombie game where they pretend play as zombies to catch others as a tag game. They were soooooo happy!

Such a pleasant evening. We stayed till the moon came out. Then the boys happily went home after bidding goodbyes to their friends.

What a great breather! I was so glad we came despite the rain and we beat the rain! It was very relaxing for both adults and children. I like this park very much because of the trees here too. They just give out a sense of calm and tranquility. We need this a lot in this bustling city that rushes one thing after another. Going to parks is one of my favorite leisures!

Must see the happy looks on our faces!
