A Goodbye Post to Goldy - My Family Dog of 12 Years.

With a heavy heart, I want to just dedicate this post to my family dog who passed away on 6 May 2023. The news was broken to us by my brother.

This dog came to us as a small cute fluffy puppy in 2011. Its golden hair made my dad really like it and thinks it resembles a golden Retriever. Hence the name was given to him - Goldy. He was the tamest dog we have kept with us. He barely barks though it can bark. He always minds his own business and he is easily kept as a pet. He eats anything given to him and he usually stays at the back of our yard so he could help us watch over that side in case there is invaders or intruders.

According to my brother, Goldy was always healthy and he rarely falls sick. This year he developed some cysts on his back and my dad got some antibiotics for him from the vet. He did look a bit weak and could barely stand.

On 5th May, he suddenly regained strength and he stood back up so my mum and dad thought he had recovered. We sort of so used to having him around that we might have neglected his age. He was already 12 years old.

On 6th May, being a quiet dog, he suddenly barked and called my mum and dad to his side. When he saw them both came, he was so happy and it wagged its tail vigorously. Then he passed on. My m and dad accompanied till he breathed his last. My mu. Said he even wagged his tail till his last breath le. 😭😭😭 Now he is buried in the yard together with our other former dogs. Perhaps I am just a bit sad but knowing we have kept them till all of their old age, I think we have done our best.

It is a sad news that Goldy is no longer with us. My boys were looking forward to see him actually this August when we are to fly back. I hope he is now in a place with no sufferings.

Rest in peace, Goldy! You have been such a good companion and friend to us as a family. We will miss you dearly.
