RE: Alien Earth (series) and why I don't like it

For me the fact they created some competitors to weylund-yutani means they can do anything they want in this universe without them negating anything from the originals. They have established that the intel from these creatures are worth billions or trillions of dollars so it would actually be outrageous to believe any corporation would follow any rules in obtaining these valuable assets. They may even tell their employees their are rules… and them break them in order to profit. That’s actually the lot of aliens. They are breaking all the rules but ripely stops them. I actually think it would be less realistic if a corporation was like “oh no. I’ll protect the earth and humanity instead of making a profit.” That has never, not will ever happen in reality. It’s kind of like corporations slapping “recycle” on items they damn well know can’t be recycled. Corporations will opt for profits no matter what the long term cost. That is why I think the show is a brilliant continuation of the story.

the problem isn't necessarily the story, it is the placement of it in the known Alien universe. I agree that with all these different new species being introduced the world of opportunities are there. My only gripe is where they put it. Why did they put it there? Perhaps just to get a rise out of people like me. We need to remember that in Ripley's first run on the mining ship her and her crew knew nothing about Xenomorphs at all and it is presumed neither did the remainder of humanity which, according to Alien Earth, their presence is quickly becoming well-known. Perhaps in later episodes they will do me and many other fanbois a favor and give us some sort of reason as to how it would be possible that a ship crashing into a major city and then alien species wrecking havoc on the local public is somehow something they can keep the entire world in the dark about.
