My personal experience with intermittent fasting
Intermittent fasting involves restricting food and/or water intake for a set period, typically ranging from several hours to a full day, within a specific time frame.

Intermittent fasting requires a structured approach, rather than eating randomly. People adopt intermittent fasting for various reasons, including weight loss, adopting a healthier lifestyle, or for spiritual purposes.
I've personally practiced intermittent fasting for its weight loss benefits, to improve my overall health, and also for spiritual reasons.
My first experience with intermittent fasting was during my school days, when I wanted to lose weight. I mistakenly believed that starving myself would help me achieve my goal, and I started fasting without my parents' knowledge or guidance. As I attended classes, I began to feel lightheaded, weak, and unable to stand or function. The fasting took a toll on my body, and I realized I couldn't continue. I decided to break my fast and prioritize my health.

As I matured and was raised in an Islamic household, I learned to observe the obligatory Ramadan fast, which involves abstaining from food and water for 14 hours a day over 30 days. I strive to fulfill this religious obligation to the best of my abilities. The first time I successfully completed intermittent fasting without breaking, I was amazed. What struck me was that life goes on as usual - you still do your daily tasks and responsibilities, but you're just not eating during certain periods.
My first day of intermittent fasting was brutal! I nearly fainted, couldn't walk, and my mouth was parched dry, made worse by the scorching heat. I was completely incapacitated and spent the entire day in bed. Ironically, I had a test the next day, and I was worried that I wouldn't be prepared and truly I was unable to study for my test because the hunger and dehydration gave me unbearable headaches and irritability. I found myself getting annoyed over the smallest, most insignificant things. It was then that I realized the truth in the saying, "A hungry man is an angry man.

After that challenging experience, I knew I needed to find a better way to approach intermittent fasting. So, I did some research and discovered that it's best to start slowly.
Through my research, I learned that the key to successful intermittent fasting is to start slowly, beginning with a manageable 5-hour fasting window and gradually increasing the duration. I also discovered that what you eat during your eating window is crucial, and that staying hydrated is important, although some people choose to drink water during their fasting periods while others don't. Also when participating in the intermittent fasting it is advised to eat nutrients dense meals and less processed meals. Nutrients dense meal like proteins, whole grain, Healthy fat, Fruits and vegetables and LOTS Of water. This helps you stay fuller longer and prevent dehydration and and also prevent you from being Nutrients deficient.
By focusing on nutrient-dense foods and staying hydrated, I've been able to maintain my overall health while fasting, without compromising my well-being. This approach has been a game-changer for me, allowing me to successfully cope with intermittent fasting. Now, I'm able to perform all my tasks without feeling hungry or irritable, even while fasting.
