ZapFicMonday 50 words Challenge Prompt -> Eagle

Hey guys,

I'm participating again in the ZapFicMonday challenge for flashfiction writers.

ZapFicMonday Challenge - Eagle

This week, the prompt is eagle.

Let's see, what my brain came up with.

"Breathtaking," he thought.
The altitude had already reached 1500 meters.
Two interceptors beside him.
He just wanted to fly once in his life.
To feel like an eagle, spreading its wings and rising into the air.
Finally free.
That was what he had always wished for.
He rose and rose.

I really like those flash fiction prompts. It keeps my meandering tendencies in check and lets me focus on a core aspect of a story.
I struggle to contain my thoughts in real life and in my writings. This is something, I have to learn and I am thankful for this weekly challenge, be it in the 50 words version or the 240 characters version.
