ZapFic Monday - Real (Flash Fiction Story)
Hello Freewriters,
This week we have another ZapFic Monday with only 240 characters to write a comprehensive story. No more and no less than 240 characters.
This is always a challenge and I'm up for it.
The prompt this week is "real" and I almost immediately thought of the little guy a few years back, who came from the dentist and asked his parents in the car "Is this real life".
As for the restrictions, I couldn't tell the whole story and after reading it, it almost feels mysterious and a bit frightening.
In my opinion, this is the strength of flash fiction. You can and you have to interpret a whole lot of your own experiences, thoughts and feelings into a flash fiction story due to the format. The writer can't lay it all out for readers to understand a story completely.
My story almost reads like a kidnapping and perhaps it is.
When Marley woke up, she was confused. She sat in her booster seat and looked at Grace.
At first, she seemed to not recognize her mom and reached out with her tiny hands to touch the face of the strange woman behind the wheel.
"Are you real?"
