Short Diary on Tuesday! | Short Talk About A Patient | Alive and Thriving on May 13, 2025 | Extra (HIVE + Health) Titbits
Hi there. How are you? I hope you are doing great. Welcome to my short diary for Tuseday, May 13, 2025!
A above-30 patient came to on Tuesday morning. Since the previous night, he had been suffering from severe pain in the left lower abdominal area, and the pain was radiating to his private part! Later, the pain also involved his left flank! On questioning, he revealed no abnormalities in his urine (no pain while passing urine and no discoloration of urine).
The features were suggestive of renal/ureteric stones. I suggested a urine test and gave a painkiller injection. The urine report revealed numerous blood cells in the urine and which was in favor of renal stones. I asked him to do a scan (from another hospital).
He returned with a scanning report in the evening. The scanning report showed both sided multiple kidney stones with one additional stone in the left ureter, causing all the symptoms!
On Tuesday I consulted a total of 32 patients in my chamber. Hence, it was an average busy day at work. No emergency case arrived, Alhamdulillah. Over 30 people came for the visa medical fitness test. I examined some of them.
At home, I walked on the treadmill for 2 times; a 20-minute walk after lunch and another 15-minute walk before sleep. This 35-minute walk helped me do over 14k steps on Tuesday. I had a short afternoon nap too!

Crohn’s disease: A life-long bowel disease!
Cronh’s disease is one of the inflammatory bowel diseases. It’s an autoimmune inflammatory condition. Hence, if someone has it, it will be a life-long partner!! Around the globe, around 6-8 million people have it! Unlike ulcerative colitis (another inflammatory bowel disease that involed on the large intestine), Crohn’s disease can affect any part of the digestive tract starting from mouth to anus! A person with Crohn’s disease suffers from different kinds of symptoms! A short video from the Cleveland Clinic mentioned some warning signs of this disease. Let us know about those!
Abdominal cramp on any part of the tummy, but more commonly at the right lower abdominal or central abdominal areas!
Regular loose stool for a long time (at least over 4 months). It may lead to fatigue and dehydration.
Unintentional weight loss (over 10 pounds or 5% of your body weight). Lack of appetite and chronic inflammation lead to weight loss!
Bloody stool, especially when the disease affects the lower part of the digestive tract such as colon, rectum or anal cana!
Ulcers in the mouth. Ulcers may develop on the lips, tongue, gums, or side of the oral cavity. Chronic inflammation, deficiency of certain vitamins, and iron may lead to such features!
Extreme fatigue despite proper rest. Again, chronic inflammation, nutritional deficiency, chronic pain, etc, lead to chronic fatigue!
To be mentioned: None of the signs are specific for Crohn's disease. Investigations are necessary to reach the final diagnosis.
Here is a short video on 6 Warning Signs of Crohn’s disease

Kidney stones is not pleasant news at all. I hope he finds a way around it.
Thanks for educating us more on Crohn’s disease.
Indeed. Kidney stones, more particularly ureteric stones, often make people roll on the bed and scream due to excruciating pain, and vomit. I hope that his ureteric stone will pass down and he will be relieved from the pain!
Thanks for the curation and comment. I appreciate it.
