RE: From factory to customer: First Tesla car self drives from Gigafactory Texas to its new customer, 30 min away. Cool, but one thing is missing.

I think, besides the fact that the cost of producing a car is just lower in China because of lower wages in general etc., especially german car manufacturers took too long to realize that many people don't want to spend loads of money on a big car but just want a cheap car that does the job of getting you from A to B.
Most of them don't really offer any small cars at the moment, but mostly SUVs and middle class cars and therefore people who just want a cheap car will prefer other brands like Hyundai where you can get a smaller model for about 15.000€.
