The Scottsdale's Buffalo girl, innovating an old design

  Sometimes I get too excited about a coin and one coin that I forget to post another coin. Scottsdale is an American Mint that always brings novel designs for North America. And they were very innovative in this one. The Buffalo silver is very famous in the US. And many mints tried to bring new designs, the most recent one was PAMP, which I bought, of course, and just realized that I didn't post about it as well. But I posted about my first Buffalo, which was an Asahi one.

  The traditional Buffalo always brings an American Native with a traditional headdress and a Bison, which is mistakenly called a Buffalo. The Scottsdale novelty here was to use an American Native from the opposite sex. That was a cool way to represent the ladies. In addition, the Bison looks like it has more fur. It looks like women usually don't wear headdresses like men, but they were inspired by the story of Minnie Hollow Wood, who got the right to wear it after a war against the US cavalry. She was just 20 years old at the time.

  The coin is cool as many Scottsdale silver coins, they stand out a bit. When it was released, I knew that I would like to have it. I got it at the time at 48$ CAD. Checking the market right now I can sell it for a bit more if I want, I think someone would be buying it between 50-54 CAD for sure. I Bought it last October so it is nice to see silver getting value. I liked the privy mark near the Bison showing a lion which is the traditional mark of the mint.

  I slowed down a bit the buying right now. I am still waiting for a shipment that by mistake was shipped to Newfoundland and I got the Newfoundland shipping by mistake. It looks like it was all solved. They gave me the returning label and my package is also safe. If my shipment arrives safely into my hand, I will trust this seller more, despite of the mistake.

  Às vezes, fico tão animado com uma moeda e outra que esqueço de postar outra moeda. Scottsdale é uma casa da moeda americana que sempre traz designs inovadores para a América do Norte. E eles foram muito inovadores neste caso. A prata Buffalo é muito famosa nos EUA. E muitas casas da moeda tentaram trazer novos designs, a mais recente foi a PAMP, que comprei, é claro, e acabei de perceber que não postei sobre ela também. Mas postei sobre meu primeiro Buffalo, que foi um Asahi.

  O Buffalo tradicional sempre traz um nativo americano com um cocar tradicional e um bisão, que é erroneamente chamado de Buffalo. A novidade de Scottsdale aqui foi usar um nativo americano do sexo oposto. Essa foi uma maneira legal de representar as mulheres. Além disso, o Bison parece ter mais pelos. Parece que as mulheres geralmente não usam cocares como os homens, mas eles foram inspirados na história de Minnie Hollow Wood, que obteve o direito de usá-lo após uma guerra contra a cavalaria americana. Ela tinha apenas 20 anos na época.

  A moeda é tão legal quanto muitas moedas de prata de Scottsdale, elas se destacam um pouco. Quando foi lançada, eu sabia que gostaria de tê-la. Comprei-a na época por CAD$ 48. Olhando o mercado agora, posso vendê-la por um pouco mais se quiser. Acho que alguém a compraria entre CAD$ 50 e CAD$ 54, com certeza. Comprei-a em outubro passado, então é bom ver a prata se valorizando. Gostei da marca secreta perto do Bisão, mostrando um leão, que é a marca tradicional da casa da moeda.

  Atrasei um pouco as compras agora. Ainda estou esperando uma remessa que, por engano, foi enviada para Newfoundland e recebi a remessa para Newfoundland por engano. Parece que tudo foi resolvido. Eles me deram a etiqueta de devolução e meu pacote também está seguro. Se minha remessa chegar em segurança às minhas mãos, confiarei ainda mais neste vendedor, apesar do erro.
