The 2013 Panda, or better 3 pandas. A beautiful silver collection to follow.
It has been a while since I don't write a post about my silver, but maybe it is better to be back. I bought some silver rounds from @bulliontools and didn't show anything yet. In addition, I recently bought some 2024 silver, including a silver eagle and a maple leaf. I am excited to receive them since it is the first silver with King Charles' ugly face. I decided to buy from TD, TD is a bank, which I have only a credit card. But they also sell precious metals. In addition, they have awesome rounds and bars minted by themselves. Their price is very comparable to websites like Silver Gold Bull but the shipping fees are better. After CAD 100, it is free. So I bought the two coins plus another extra 1oz coin from Fiji, the Koi fish. Together they cost CAD 125. But anyway I bring more details after they arrive.
one of the silver coins that I bought from my Hivian friend was the famous panda coin from China. I think that is the most famous round from that country. I have always liked pandas they look very exotic. Now doing research I saw that every year they release a different picture of a panda or pandas doing different things. That’s cool it breaks a bit having the same coin but with a different year only like it happens in some rounds from North America. Interestingly, this bear for many years was considered to be closer to the raccoon than to the bear. However, molecular studies showed in the 80’s that pandas are bears so they are classified as members of the Ursidae family. I remember watching some documentaries about this animal that is a symbol from China and how difficult was for them to procreate. The name panda is more from our Western world. In China, they had different names including “bamboo bear”. The name makes clear the main food for this animal, the plant called bamboo which eats stems, leaves, and shoots. But they also can eat other plants and even meat. The animal has been suffering from extinction menace since the bamboo forests are being devastated, the main diet source for these animals.
This amazing silver round has 3 pandas drinking water from a lake (it looks like a lake or a puddle) and in the background, you find a nice and calm bamboo forest. In the same Reverse, there is a 10 at the top and some Mandarin letters that mean "Yuan" which is the currency of this country. On the observe of the coin, you can see the Temple of Heaven, an important Chinese place in Beijing. The temple has a meaning of the relationship between heaven and earth. It is a historical place in the history of the country. The letters on the top mean the People's Republic of China and the year 2013, on the bottom, which is the year of mint.
I love animals, everybody loves pandas. Knowing that every year they change how the pandas are designed is very interesting for people who like collections, like me. The year 2024 brought a mother panda cuddling a cub, isn't that cute? You can find it easily on Google. I hope you guys are also interested in this amazing coin.
O nome deixa claro o principal alimento deste animal, a planta chamada bambu, que come caules, folhas e brotos.

do you have some of them?
I do but stored away somewhere. I haven't bought any new ones in years now.
I sure like seeing the Number 10 being used on that 1 ounce Silver Panda...
hehhehe interesting! everyone finds something different cool in a coin like that!
I'm looking forward to seeing the number 10 on all one ounce Silver Coins... It doesn't matter to me if they are in Dollars, Francs, Yuan, Pounds or whatever, as long as they all use the same standard numbers... It would sure eliminate the need for Exchange Rates...
ohhh cool!
Very cool coin with the panda growing every year !BBH
