Music triggering the memory on the back of my brain.

Memory is something interesting and impressive. Sometimes I don't remember what I ate for breakfast, but musical memory works amazingly. I think I blogged one day and said how crazy it was with an Alzheimer's patient that the cognitive depletation was going down and she couldn't even communicate with anyone. But when she heard classical music that she used to dance to when she was a ballerina, she started to do some movements from her dance from ages ago. I watched a sketch by Ariana Grande at Saturday Night Live (SNL) and she imitated Gwen Steffany from No Doubt singing Don't speak. A famous song that still plays around in the rock stations. But what was amazing happened after.
I decided to look for No Doubt on Spotify since it's probably been ages since they were on my playlist. Probably the last time they were I was still using CD players to listen to music. And then started a music "Don't let it go away...This feeling has got to stay". And I started to sing together. WTF was that? A music that I probably haven't heard for decades, it is a song from 1999 on their album "Return to Saturn," and it's been more than 20 years since I last listened to it, and I remember the lyrics completely.
No Doubt was always a band with inner conflicts inside of me since they started as a fast ska band and in the end they had pop electronic music. So they have a bit of everything and me as a traditional rocker tends to make some ugly face with certain tracks. The same happened with Silverchair with me. Anyways, the band has nice ska music, especially in their 1995 release called "The Bacon Street Collection" with the hit "Total Hate".
That was an amazing work that they produced independently and right after they released the famous "Tragic Kingdom" with the hids "Don't Speak" and "Just a Girl" , but for me "Spiderweb" is the best track with more speedy music a bit of hardcore spices on it. But After these three albums, they changed a lot during early 2000's and they went full force into the pop, eletronic and rap influences which I totally prefer stay behind in the past with the 90's part of this band.
It is good to remember some old songs of this band, but still I am very impressed with the precision of my memory to remember full lyrics. Music is magic indeed and how our brain works with it is still crazy.

A memória é algo interessante e impressionante.
E então começou a tocar "Don't Let It Go Away... This Feeling Has Got to Stay". E eu comecei a cantar junto.
