Kindness: Learned and inherited.

I was still in University and I started to teach as a volunteer in a free course for young adults who wanted to apply for public universities in Brazil. Public universities in the country are difficult to apply to, since you need to take a test for acceptance with topics usually learned during high school. This course was during the night, when young adults can attend to some education after they finish working. In that course, I met many functionally illiterate people. People who could barely write their own name. But they were there trying to learn, and I saw great improvements in these students during their studies, even if they weren't successful in their University application.

Those adults mostly abandoned school because they needed to provide money for their living. So they could work in jobs that don't require so many studies, but experience was the most required attribute. Many of them continued in the course year after year. I saw some students entering the university, but most of them couldn't get in. But even without entering a university, they started to show signs that they were learning and more participative in many debates, especially in Biology, the area that I was teaching.
I studied 4 years at the University, plus 6 years doing graduate studies (Master and Ph.D.). I am the proof that shows that more studies aren't proportional to more income. However, I understand the world more, and also understand better the needs of our planet, society and others Homo sapiens that we see every day. But all this knowledge don't necessarily mean being kind to others.
I know many intelligent people who still hurt others. I think that understanding the world better can open so many doors, but selfishness and greed still exist, and it is inherited by many people. Those students that I met for sure many of them were easier to manipulate since they didn't have enough time to study. Politicians love the more illiterate their people. However, kindness is something that can occur without any filter and learning. So many of these students had some type of kindness, especially with their own community. Many times I saw one being kind to the others so kindness can be inherited without any type of learning.

That means that when we study, read books, and learn in other classes. The learning opens our eyes to better understand the world. That opens the doors for many possibilities, like avoiding being manipulated by others and understanding where we need to help. However, kindness is something that is inherited without the need for any study. So I think a human with both attributes could have a great impact locally, especially with friends and local society. That is the person that we should all aim to be with our family, friends and anyone who needs some type of help. Never stop to learn and never stop seeking the good for others.

I love your way of highlighting that education can enhance understanding of the world, kindness is often an innate trait that transcends formal learning. It emphasizes the importance of combining knowledge and compassion to positively impact local communities.
thanks
I feel sad for you that you get higher education but still can't get good job according to your studies, PhD really the last of studies..... Education really can't give you more income also it doesn't mean that highly education make less people hurt
That's life! hehehe
Here too you need to do a test to enter uni, not on every degree tough, some are open to all... Kindness is part of character, that indeed isn't related to instruction level
Yeah! I think that instruction can help a bit to open your eyes more, but still is something part of the character
