I got downvoted now what?

  The banner of the post shows one post of mine downvoted in 2023. If you think that this post is to talk bad about downvotes, maybe you should skip it. Why did I decide to make this post? I saw a concerning message on Hive Discord chat. @themarkymark is thinking of closing his Project ZERO? I feel concerned, but many people probably will celebrate if that happens, since every once in a while we see people complaining about downvotes in general and of course, many of them are about user @themarkymark and his project downvotes.

  If you click on the link from the source of this post banner, you will see a downvote by @buildawhale and there are a couple of more posts that were downvoted by him. At that time, I felt confused, first thought "What have I done wrong?" I already knew at that time that this account belonged to @themarkymark, it is publicly known. If you check the Hive Watchers server, for example, it is easy to find mentions about it. I messaged him and he answered the reason: Nothing personal, just a counter upvote to another user (which I won't mention who he is since it is an old story). The well-known reward equalization. Marky has his logic in doing what is better to preserve the blockchain. That doesn't mean that I agree with 100% of his logic behind all actions. But I respect, since he doesn't receive any DHF funds and it is doing that with his stake mostly. He is doing a similar action recently, trying to equalize rewards, which is somehow related to that, which, by coincidence, is related to the screenshot above. His actions are always related to avoiding Hive devaluation. Since many people on-chain see Hive as "free money" to spend.

  Downvotes hurt our ego, but if you enjoy the token and also enjoy writing, you will probably continue posting even receiving downvotes. And to be frank, many of the users that get into marky blacklists or project ZERO as it is known, are due to over-abusing the system with multiple accounts, spamming the blockchain and getting extra rewards from it. Also, pushing the button of downvote is hard, it is tough since you know that the other side will first think that you are a devil monster. I recently started to use the downvote button, which way I express myself probably. I had a little push from another user, but I appreciate his advice. If this post reaches him, for sure he will know that I am talking about him.

  Some people get hurt and go to BLURT, a fork of Hive that doesn't have downvotes. Don't you think that downvotes are important to make Hive more valuable? Since we are getting Hive everytime that someone votes on our comments, posts? It is difficult to balance what is fair for what we can be rewarded and what we can't. But we know some faces that battle for it, such as the owner of project 0 and @smooth (who usually touches the downvote when the post reward achieves crazy levels). Those guys don't fear being considered "monsters" of downvoting and hurting feelings. They are thinking in the global ecosystem of the blockchain that we want to succeed.

  I am not sure if important stakeholders like @themarkymark, @smooth, and others that keep trying to balance rewards are going to leave eventually. I hope not, but if they do, it will be sad. We have Hive Watchers receiving DHF funds, but we know that it is too much work for them to cover, and users like @themarkymark are always covering blind spots. Maybe I will get downvotes for this post, or maybe not. Before thinking of these guys as villains, maybe we should think more about what we want for Hive. Let's extract until it gets dry? Or let's make it great and useful for everyone?

Na época, fiquei confuso e pensei: "O que eu fiz de errado?". Eu já sabia que esta conta pertencia a @themarkymark, e isso é de conhecimento público. Se você verificar o servidor Hive Watchers, por exemplo, é fácil encontrar menções a isso. Enviei uma mensagem para ele e ele respondeu o motivo: Nada pessoal, apenas um contra-voto para outro usuário (que não mencionarei, pois é uma história antiga). A conhecida equalização de recompensas. Marky tem sua lógica em fazer o que é melhor para preservar o blockchain. Isso não significa que eu concorde 100% com sua lógica por trás de todas as ações. Mas eu respeito.Desde que ele esta usando seu proprio stake na maior parte do seu HP. Ele está realizando uma ação semelhante recentemente, tentando equalizar as recompensas, o que de alguma forma está relacionado a isso, que por coincidência está relacionado à captura de tela acima. Suas ações estão sempre relacionadas a evitar a desvalorização do Hive. Já que muitas pessoas na blockchain veem o Hive como "dinheiro grátis" para gastar.

  Votos negativos ferem nosso ego, mas se você gosta do token e também gosta de escrever, provavelmente continuará postando mesmo recebendo votos negativos. E, para ser franco, muitos dos usuários que entram nas listas negras do Marky, ou no Projeto ZERO, como é conhecido, são devido ao abuso excessivo do sistema com múltiplas contas, enviando spam para o blockchain e obtendo recompensas extras com isso. Além disso, apertar o botão de voto negativo é difícil, pois você sabe que o outro lado vai pensar que você é um monstro demoníaco. Recentemente, comecei a usar o botão de voto negativo, que é provavelmente a forma como me expresso. Recebi um pequeno empurrão de outro usuário, mas agradeço o conselho dele. Se esta publicação chegar até ele, com certeza ele saberá que estou falando dele.

  Algumas pessoas se machucam e vão para o BLURT, um fork do Hive que não tem votos negativos. Você não acha que os votos negativos são importantes para tornar o Hive mais valioso? Já que estamos recebendo votos negativos toda vez que alguém vota em nossos comentários ou postagens? É difícil equilibrar o que é justo entre o que podemos ser recompensados e o que não podemos. Mas conhecemos alguns rostos que lutam por isso, como o dono do projeto 0 e @smooth (que costuma tocar no voto negativo quando a recompensa da publicação atinge níveis absurdos). Esses caras não temem ser considerados "monstros" por votar negativamente e ferir sentimentos. Eles pensam no ecossistema global do blockchain que queremos que prospere.

  Não tenho certeza se stakeholders importantes como @themarkymark, @smooth e outros que continuam tentando equilibrar as recompensas irão embora eventualmente. Espero que não, mas se o fizerem, será triste. Temos @hivewatchers recebendo fundos do DHF, mas sabemos que é muito trabalho para eles cobrirem, e usuários como @themarkymark estão sempre cobrindo pontos cegos. Talvez eu receba votos negativos por esta publicação, ou talvez não. Antes de pensar nesses caras como vilões, talvez devêssemos pensar mais sobre o que queremos para a Hive. Vamos extrair até secar? Ou vamos torná-la ótima e útil para todos?
