Finding the best balance in our lives.
One of the greatest challenges in life is finding a balance in your life. Especially after we have kids, we re-think the balance of work and personal life. This balance can be compromised many times and we see the impact of it. We see that kids start to miss their parents and can feel abandoned and also the stress level rises a lot. You start to get irritated and get mad with everything. In addition, you want to stay in bed for a long time but you know that you can. The stress can start to create physical symptoms such as gastritis or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. We need to understand our boundaries of how much our workload affects ourselves and our families.

It is difficult to find a balance, but sometimes we un-balance it. Right now my life is pretty balanced between a regular 8h a day work with weekends off. I stop working after my working day ends and I don't touch anything from work after that. But sometimes I get freelancing opportunities that unbalance my life and health, especially when I need to work late at night. The only problem is that after I get home I dedicate myself entirely to my kids, who go to bed at 8:30 minimum.
I want to implement a healthy schedule but the gym at the YMCA (sports and leisure center) closes at 10 pm. In addition, it is a 10-15 minute driving distance. It is impossible to go there after putting the kids there after bedtime. So I am trying to go there at 5:30 AM. So I can come back until 7 AM, take a quick shower, and wake up everyone to go to school. I am not quite a morning guy but I am making a huge effort to go at least 3 times a week. Today for example I decided not to go, my youngest woke up at 1:30 AM because some reason that no one knows. So I stayed with her a bit before coming back to bed. The alarm rang and I didn't have any strength to get up from bed.
I think going to the gym is also very important for my current life. I am turning 40 years old, and I feel that my back is suffering a lot. However, if I start exercising, my back stops complaining since the muscles get stronger. In addition, running on a treadmill also is important for my day to keep my cardio good.
It is very difficult to find money/family/health balance but I guess I am still reaching and trying new ways. I got a freelancer opportunity to test an AI machine, which didn't go very well, for many reasons. Including my decision to go slow. But for sure other problems weighed a bit such as communication problems with the employer, they were using a platform to automate and I couldn't know whenever I had new tasks. When I finally had a task I could finish one that opened another one, but I decided to stop in that day and the next day that I went there, the task wasn't available anymore.

Did I find the perfect balance in my life? Not yet, but at least I am learning with every step. The important also is to assess every moment and be sensitive to the unbalanced measurements. It isn't difficult to notice what isn't good in that moment, and maybe think and debate with your partner about it. Yes, we need to try to find a better balance and enjoy our lives.


Um dos maiores desafios da vida é encontrar um equilíbrio na vida. Especialmente depois de termos filhos, repensamos o equilíbrio entre trabalho e vida pessoal. Esse equilíbrio pode ser comprometido muitas vezes e vemos o impacto disso. Percebemos que as crianças começam a sentir falta dos pais e podem se sentir abandonadas, e também o nível de estresse aumenta muito. Você começa a ficar irritado e se irritar com tudo. Além disso, você quer ficar na cama por um longo tempo, mas sabe que não pode. O estresse pode começar a criar sintomas físicos como gastrite ou síndrome do intestino irritável. Precisamos entender nossos limites de quanto nossa carga de trabalho afeta a nós mesmos e nossas famílias.

É difícil encontrar um equilíbrio, mas às vezes desequilibramos. Atualmente, minha vida está bastante equilibrada entre um trabalho regular de 8 horas por dia com fins de semana livres. Paro de trabalhar quando meu dia de trabalho termina e não toco em nada do trabalho depois disso. Mas às vezes surgem oportunidades de freelancers que desequilibram minha vida e saúde, especialmente quando preciso trabalhar até tarde da noite. O único problema é que, depois que chego em casa, me dedico inteiramente aos meus filhos, que vão para a cama no mínimo às 20h30.
Quero implementar uma rotina saudável, mas a academia no YMCA (centro esportivo e de lazer) fecha às 22h. Além disso, fica a 10-15 minutos de carro de distância. É impossível ir lá depois de colocar as crianças na cama após a hora de dormir. Então estou tentando ir lá às 5h30 da manhã. Assim, posso voltar até as 7h, tomar um banho rápido e acordar todos para ir à escola. Não sou muito de acordar cedo, mas estou fazendo um grande esforço para ir pelo menos 3 vezes por semana. Hoje, por exemplo, decidi não ir, minha filha mais nova acordou às 1h30 da manhã por algum motivo que ninguém sabe. Então fiquei com ela um pouco antes de voltar para a cama. O alarme tocou e eu não tinha força para levantar da cama.
Acho que ir à academia também é muito importante para minha vida atual. Estou completando 40 anos e sinto que minhas costas estão sofrendo muito. No entanto, se eu começar a me exercitar, minhas costas param de reclamar, pois os músculos ficam mais fortes. Além disso, correr na esteira também é importante para o meu dia manter meu condicionamento cardiorrespiratório bom.
É muito difícil encontrar um equilíbrio entre dinheiro/família/saúde, mas acho que ainda estou alcançando e tentando novas maneiras. Recebi uma oportunidade de freelancer para testar uma máquina de IA, que não deu muito certo, por muitas razões. Incluindo minha decisão de ir devagar. Mas com certeza outros problemas pesaram um pouco, como problemas de comunicação com o empregador, eles estavam usando uma plataforma para automatizar e eu não conseguia saber sempre que tinha novas tarefas. Quando finalmente tive uma tarefa, consegui terminar uma que abriu outra, mas decidi parar naquele dia e no próximo dia em que fui lá, a tarefa não estava mais disponível.

Eu encontrei o equilíbrio perfeito em minha vida? Ainda não, mas pelo menos estou aprendendo a cada passo. O importante também é avaliar cada momento e ser sensível às medidas desequilibradas. Não é difícil perceber o que não está bom naquele momento e talvez pensar e debater com seu parceiro sobre isso. Sim, precisamos tentar encontrar um melhor equilíbrio e aproveitar nossas vidas.

Finding balance doesn't happen in a blink. Having to juggle different things that might coincide and which come with their share of imbalance can be a tassle especially. Only knowing where to draw the line with every chore and which to prioritize can help create some stability.
Correct you need to keep trying your best and revising everything
Truly, life gets more difficult to balance as we age especially after having children, so far, I think you are doing pretty well juggling all of your activities and importantly creating time for exercise, I also need to add exercise to my routine. My back now aches constantly these days and I'm just about to hit the big 30, it's just too early!

Health, Family and money needed balance indeed. It is surprisingly bad when we are doing best but there is nothing balance in our life. I appreciate at the age of 40, you still do Gym and Treadmill running is part of it. I had to give up on my freelancing activities whenever I'm tired.
We need to stop sometimes … if not we can get very bad!!
One of the big challenges in life is to take yourself to the right place and collect your lower soil because when tightening your soil will create a version on yourself to create your own balance. In the midst I found that one was a lot of good things
Finding balance is not so easy, especially in the beginning time but somehow we find it. Some of us find it very fast and some take the time that's the difference. If there is not balance then life will be nothing more than hell.

Difficult is an understatement...the more I try, the harder it becomes. The last 4 days has been super overwhelming for me... yesterday I didn't know when tears rolled out from my eyes down to my cheeks but in everything, i try to stay strong and keep finding balance.. however taking a break to clear of my head and be on a good state of mind and health is a must
How admirable reading your gym activities despite many things pulling you left and right..it's a great step to keep fit and be healthy to face your daily duties while striving to maintain balance in life
Totally understand sometimes life give us despair! But don’t lose hope! We need to persist. Stopping and breathing a bit helps sometimes :)

Best time to exercise is early I've always found, if you can get used to it! That balance is a tough one, it never gets easier sadly. But I've found the time best spent has always been with my kids. That I never regret!
