RE: Topcomment weekly curation report (week 31)

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

What I don't like about services that put links is that they explicitly assume Hive frontend even if that's not needed, instead of using front-end agnostic links. I even complained about WorldMapPin about the same.

Please use front-end agnostic links whenever possible.

For example, here you point to my comment by using this:
@gtg https://peakd.com/@gtg/re-andablackwidow-1753306770657

Using markdown that would be [@gtg's comment](https://peakd.com/@gtg/re-andablackwidow-1753306770657) which is OK and would work, except it will force viewers to use that particular frontend, and if viewer is using ecency.com, hive.blog or whatever other front-end they will most likely be annoyed by that fact and want to get back to the original site they were browsing.

Proper way to link content is to provide frone-end agnostic links that in this case would look like this: @gtg's comment

code: [@gtg's comment](/@gtg/re-andablackwidow-1753306770657)

(i.e. just strip domain part and start from /, frontends are expected to follow that scheme and point you to proper content no matter what dapp you are using.
