Bleak is a good word for this time of year, love the way you have used such a small space for your raspberry plants, that has given me some ideas!

If I give them more space, they will take it. I don't want it to grow too massive!
When they grow bigger I tie them to the fence. It can be a bit hard to pick the raspberries that are in the middle of the bush, but I do get loads from the bush, so I it's ok to miss a few.

Yes I heard raspberry bushes can be a bit thuggish and take over,

I think what I've learned is that when it gets to that point, abandon that house

Have you ever grown Rubus brambles? Lol
I tried to give mine a debuff by putting them on the north side of someone's building. Very cold microclimate! The neighbors cut their losses with what used to be in that garage too. It's not drastic. As we say, you cut your berries and leave!
