Glasscherbenvilla. Passau.
With its Gothic towers, imposing facades and choice of dark paint , a perfect setting for a good old style house of horrors movie.
Also known as also Ostuzzi Villa, on Ostuzzi Street, named after its architect Aristide Ostuzzi.
The broken glass villa was constructed in the early 1900's, an eclectic mix of architectural styles, covered substantially by bits of broken sea green glass recovered from the local glassworks factory, mixed in mosaics are bits of broken ceramics and weirdly, bits of JC and other religious figures.
The once stunning house fell into disrepair over time. But was painstakingly restored in the early 2000s and is now a complex of privately owned apartments

The building looks like it is surrounded by a courtyard. The beautiful terracotta designs are a feast for the eyes.
Wow! The photos you shared were awesome! Very interesting post.
What I find strange are the inlays of "parts" of religious figures... This is something I had never seen before.
Are you on the Austrian border on some secret mission? 🤣
Greetings, 🤠🤗
Oh, this house is truly a masterpiece! The turquoise color and the Gothic domes are my favorite.
Absolutely stunning! ✨ The story behind its construction is so unique, especially the mosaics with broken glass and religious figures 🙌 Thanks for sharing this amazing building 💕
