Georgian DERP Tbilisi September 22

Don't ya just love it when you turn up late afternoon to check into your hotel and you see this???

_DSC6267.jpeg

You stroll around the property

_DSC6268.jpeg

_DSC6287.jpeg

It has got a fire escape, that may come in handy

_DSC6288.jpeg

Wonderful says I, just what I need after a lengthy bus journey to Tbilisi.

_DSC6286.jpeg

So chucking by bags into the room and out I go.

Come on seriously, do you think a tasty traveller like me would stay in a place like this?

TIME TO MOOCH

_DSC6266.jpeg

Well what ever next! can't wait for the estate agent for ever, time to view the property alone I guess.

_DSC6263.jpeg

_DSC6265.jpeg

If these were the previous occupants they had a wonderful taste in wall paper

_DSC6250.jpeg

There just seemed to be general detritus in the rooms as early as 2008 as late as 2021, I got the impression that this was once a block of rooms with multiple occupancy

_DSC6261.jpeg

Love the wear on these stair treads

_DSC6245.jpeg

No air con required in this room with a view.

_DSC6249.jpeg

_DSC6248.jpeg

_DSC6251.jpeg

The squiggles of the Georgian alphabet, confused google as well as me.

So all the way to the roof space, not very exciting and certainly worthy as a spot on homes under the hammer. (A crap U.K. tv programme about house renovation)

That’s a nice find, of course one has to check it out.
I think you are right. It looks like more occupants lived together spread in the building.
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers!

Dear “tasty traveller” - could you see your hotel from the room with a view? The building might fall down on “Houses under the hammer” - I used to watch that when I was bored. Haha
Another great find. I still wonder if I will ever get to explore here- i have never seen a forsaken building.

LOL, no thankfully I couldn't

The Dutch seem to have more respect for buildings and legacies, or more strict laws?
