Stood on top of an old tin filled with boxes of British Rail BR 1927/1 issue drawing pins, I know, I opened one to see what was inside! A group photo at a black tie soiree. Are our couple the centre pair of this group photo?

Air fix modelling seems to have been a popular past time in the household, this particular set was released in 1989.

I had a Scalextric set as a kid, they were the toy to have for that era, sold by the clever ad men and their camera angles, it looked awesome..... unbox, set up ( which took ages) if you have never had a go, you ain't missing anything, it was impossible to keep the cars on the track if you went into a bend with any speed, and more time was spent rescuing the cars from the dog's mouth who took great delight in catching them and running off rather than actually racing.
Sew on badges, travel patches, girl guides and boy scout achievements, and someone called Deborah who worked in an Odeon Cinema.
I wonder if it was Deborah who had a crap taste in music? All very 1980's...... shoot me down, the 80's the worst decade ever for pop music.

Craziest thing is going through this thinking this was not long ago, yet the charm and beauty of the era already done, dusted and more or less forgotten by many.

All those abandon memories - pity. I smiled re. the 80's comment and the Scalextric. My husband seems to have spent a lot of time with his set(s). He seems to want to remember this era as well.

Aww thanks. It is in a wooden box/frame and hanging in my son’s room. When my son was younger - they used to set it up. Now it seems as though it/along with 2 more boxes are being preserved for posterity. 😀

I am fascinated by these posts. I find them so intriguing. How do so many things, memories, photographs get trapped in a time spiral? It's incomprehensible to me.
What happened to Dick and his dominatrix? lol... any word on that?
there is nothing I could find as to where he or she is, or why this place is a ghost house. Even all the clothes and shoes were in the wardrobes etc. But it was a spankingly good visit lol
Incredible everything in this house, I see many valuable memories, about the car track toy I got to buy one for my younger brother, I had to try to put it together several times and I ended up hating that toy, in the end we voted for it with pleasure.
I would love to be able to enter houses like this, but in my country the thieves take even the souvenirs. 🤣

cheers @soyunasantacruz thanks for dropping in, it is much appreciated, I understand when you say about thieves, it is the same here in the UK, that is why this sort of "hobby" is so secretive, I know of several places that things have been stolen or destroyed by deliberate fires too.
I am glad you understand my frustrations with th the car track toy. LOl
wow! these 3 posts are super cool! I'm impressed that some of these things are probably valuable now as antiques, and they are still sitting there, nobody took it. Did you find out why they moved out and left everything behind?
