Then I guess someone got bored with the minimalist street furniture and took matters into their own hands.

How can I put words together to explain what my eyes are showing me?

_DSC1260.jpeg

_DSC1256.jpeg

Amsterdam in all it's glory, shameless in its passion for being left field.

_DSC1261.jpeg

_DSC1263.jpeg

If this was the UK the small town sheriffs in the guildhall would be slapping all sorts of notices on the guys who put this together, citing elf n safety, public nuisance, blocking the highway et al. Boring fuckers.

_DSC1257.jpeg

_DSC1259.jpeg

The bin men would be there hoofing it into the back of the bin lorry quicker than you can say "art for art's sake"

_DSC1258.jpeg

_DSC1268.jpeg

Unless of course it was put together by "artists" (term used loosely) such as Tracey Emin or Damien Hirst, then the luvvies would be fawning over it and spunking in their soup as they gush on and on and on

" Anthea Daahling, look at the way that crisp packet lies at such a jaunty angle. pure genius"
" Sebastian my dearest, what is a crisp packet?"
" Oh Laughs out loud at you, Anthea, it is what the poor people have for food, silly me; mwah"

"My bed" by Emin, sold for £2.5 million a few years back. What a load of bollocks!

Fuck me, my bed looks like that every day. Anyone wanna buy it?

The creation of someone who loves what they do, each piece no doubt lovingly added, with thought.

It is not random

How many animals died in the creation of this layout ? probably zero

I read an article recently about Damien Hirst where he commented that one must.

"Kill things in order to look at them".

The article concluded that approximately 900,000 living creatures died for that fucking plank to make "art"

The emperor's new clothes.

What the actual @!~☆ am I looking at?! It looks as though everyone is hosting a garage sale / house move out / salvage dump. But hey, they say art is in the eye of the beholder -- or is it beauty is in the eye of the beholder?

That street art is a great find. Wonderful that it is not yet removed. Things are cleaned up fast here as well - people like order. Someone saw the true value in this street art.
There are so many stories being told there. It is definitely not random.
Interestingly you mentioned Hirst.😞

I just do lots of reading on lots of stuff, always trying to educate myself, and came across the article about him by accident.

Yes - I understand. I do the same - saw an article about him laying off lots of people but caliming millions during the "pandemic". hmmm

I've been to Amsterdam a few times and it can be quirky. I'm not sure I saw that particular installation, but I like to see something different. We stayed at the house of an artist who had some nice pieces, but they were inside. The Dutch seem pretty laid back generally.

This was away from the city centre, which I found to be depressing and dirty. Back in the day I was a regular business traveller to The Netherlands and always enjoyed Amsterdam. It has changed and not for the better.

The centre is so full of tourists, but I expect there are lots of nice areas. I just found it a good place to get around on foot. I've not tried cycling there.

Street gardens artistically done with real living plants, yup! Plastic heads, dolls and shoes perhaps a prank to put people off of walking in the area?

Most unusual!

Once it's legal it loses the flair, only ardent smokers will continue..., it is a sweet smell 🤣

It’s awesome, love it when people are so creative and change the view of a boring street. That took years to gather 😎 for some rubbish for others treasure… hahaha 🤣
You are right, not many places would allow it.
I don’t get Damien’s art… especially when killing living creatures.

That is wild. It looks like a hoarders home spilling into the street.

That "bed art" is stupid.
