The memory of drinking coffee with your mother on the porch in the rain is so vibrant 😍! Just reading your words gave me a sense of calm and happiness β˜•οΈ

Sitting outside somewhere dry with a hot mug while it pours is one of my fav things in the world. I can totally get the powerful associations it has for you! I'm curious now though, are the thoughts on sitting on the porch being a nosy thing to do something that people in general think there, or was it more of a personal idea of your mother's? I'm like you, I find more interest in the peace and clouds than whatever else is going on haha!

Hey, @grindan 😸 So nice to see you πŸ’œ
I'm thrilled that you found that memory soothing. It makes my day!
About your question, well, actually, there were several neighbors and people in the city, in general, who used to stand on their porches and even on the sidewalks on the threshold of their doors just to see what the neighbors were doing, what time they were leaving or getting home, who was entering whose house--and how late πŸ™„πŸ˜‰--, etc... Miss Marple would've fit in here so well and solved a lot of mysteries, hehe. Even now there are still people who sit at the door of their houses just to contemplate "the street," but they are only a few now because the years of insecurity (due to all kinds of crime) almost got to eradicate this custom. I'm with you, I prefer looking at the clouds and trees, feeling the breeze... But it has it's pros and cons, you know; for example, when there's no one watching, the job of burglars is easier.

Thank you so much for dropping by β˜• I really appreciated 😁
