Open Mithril: The Dev Framework HIVE Needs—Even a One-Day Funding Could Change Everything!

Picture this: You're an up-and-coming developer with big ideas and boundless energy, ready to build the next killer app on HIVE... and then you hit a wall. Actually, about twelve of them. Tools are outdated, documentation is scattered across the galaxy, and you're duct-taping together code from the 2018 era like it’s some kind of retro-chic art project. Scrambling for outdated tools, reinventing the wheel with every project, and then realizing your “cutting-edge” system is still running on dial-up? Welcome to the reality of HIVE development—until Open Mithril comes along like a superhero in a hoodie.

🛠 What the Heck is Open Mithril?

Think of @open.mithril as that secret weapon every developer’s been dreaming about. Led by the inimitable @ecoinstant (HIVE’s own Gandalf with a keyboard, the project manager) and @thecrazygm (a developer so prolific he's been dropping killer tools like mixtapes for devs), Open Mithril is not just another pie-in-the-sky DHF proposal. It’s a modular, open-source, developer-friendly, community-powered lifeline for the entire HIVE ecosystem.

🛠 What Are They Actually Doing?

This team isn’t just talking about decentralization and open-source—they’re out here living it.
They’ve already:
• Released 7 free HIVE tools.
• Built 4 B2B microservices, 2 of which are in public beta and actively being used.
• Delivered a gorgeous new DHF portal at https://dhf.thecrazygm.com.
• Forked and actively maintained Beem, transforming it into the Nectar library—a key infrastructure piece that was slowly decaying before they stepped in.
• And of course, kept the vibes alive through their Deep Web3 Secrets podcast, where they break down all the stuff you didn’t know you didn’t know about HIVE.

🧩 Why This Framework Matters

Let’s be real: building on HIVE right now is like assembling IKEA furniture blindfolded, but without the tiny helpful guy in the instruction manual. @open.mithril fixes that. It offers:
Reusable modules that plug into your project like Lego blocks (but cooler).
• Real-time feedback loops from actual B2B clients.
• RedHat-style microservices for business and dev users alike.
• Thorough documentation, examples, and community-friendly tools.
And it’s all open-source. That means you can build on it, fork it, remix it, and make it your own. No more gatekeeping or hidden APIs. Just solid, accessible tools for anyone who wants to make HIVE better.

💸 Funding Drama: Full Ask or a One-Day Win?

Let’s address the elephant in the room (or should we say, the Hive in the room). The proposal is asking for a cool 99,000 HBD—that’s $99,000 in blockchain power for a project that has already delivered more than some half-funded attempts ever did. But alas, due to the grand saga of return proposals and the elusive DHF HP metrics, full funding seems to be slipping through the fingers.

Enter the one-day miracle:
Even if the full 99K HBD isn’t secured, a one-day partial funding slice is still on the table. And here's the kicker—it’s enough to fuel around two months of hardcore development. That means a single day of support can pay the team, stock up on food, caffeine, GitHub commits, the whole shebang. For a newer funding breakdown, I'm guessing about 7K HBD to pay the team members and support staff, with the rest being for paid tools, server hosting and any miscellaneous thing that may pop up. While this is happening, they may put up another proposal. Then after those two months, the team takes things slow and build leisurely as they once did before the proposal.

🚀 Why Open Mithril is a Boon for the HIVE Ecosystem

1. Accelerated Innovation:
Stop waiting for mirages of ready-to-deploy code. Open Mithril’s modular framework means that every dev, from the newbie to the pro, can finally stop scrounging around for half-baked solutions and start building robust, scalable applications on HIVE.

2. Building on Solid Foundations:
By forking and maintaining key libraries (hello, Nectar!), this team is ensuring that every single tool you rely on is battle-tested and community-approved. This isn’t just maintenance—it's next-level infrastructure optimization.

3. Community and Collaboration:
The team isn’t working in some ivory tower. Their efforts ripple across the HIVE ecosystem via direct client feedback, regular updates, and even podcasts that strip away the corporate buzzwords. It's raw, real, and ridiculously engaging.

🗳 Your Vote: The Catalyst for Change

If you think this framework is important—and let’s face it, if you’ve ever banged your head against the wall trying to build on HIVE or lamented the lack of top-tier projects as a user, it is—then vote. It doesn’t matter if you have 100 HP or 1 million. Every vote adds visibility, and enough visibility means this proposal has a shot at that crucial one-day payday.
Because let’s be honest: more money has been given for less work, and this team has already delivered more than some fully funded projects ever did.

🙏 Final Word

Think of @open.mithril like the dev toolkit Batman would use if he built on HIVE. It’s sleek, powerful, modular, and completely open-source. Open Mithril is not just a proposal—it’s a revolution in how HIVE builds, maintains, and evolves its developer tools. With @ecoinstant’s vision and @thecrazygm’s technical prowess, the project is set to turn our collective “what ifs” into “why haven’t we done this before?”. This isn't just about one team getting paid—it's about building infrastructure for everyone. So let’s help them finish what they started.

Vote for Open Mithril. Vote for progress. And yes, vote for a better, more innovative HIVE ecosystem.

🗳 Vote now! Even one day of funding can spark months of progress!

Well those first 2 lines hit like a truck! I have spent a ton of time reading documentation, and trying to understand all these different apis, daps, and w/e else you want to call these programs and repos around hive. If only everything was as clear about how it works or what it can do as the stuff yall have been putting out I think a ton more people would be able to work on hive dev projects.
