Prompt: “Too Late”

There’s a moment when time runs out, when words go unsaid, doors close, or the chance we clung to slips through our fingers. For this prompt, explore the emotional weight of being too late.
• What was missed? A person? An opportunity? A truth that came just a little too slow?
• What stopped you? Fear, pride, distance, time, or simply not knowing?
• What remains? Regret, relief, acceptance, longing, or maybe a lesson carved deep?

Bonus challenge: Let the poem circle time. Moments you had, moments you lost, and the one moment that changed everything.

Write with tenderness, honesty, and the ache of, “what could have been.” Let silence and absence speak just as loud as your words.

This is another piece I just wrote, did a little at home and I just finished it here at work because the environment was calm for me to think, so I took advantage of it. I hope you'd enjoy it.
