July Challenge 1
Hello there! How're you all doing? I've not been around for some time, so I might've missed some lovely poems and challenges. I'm back now and ready to rumble!
Thanks to everyone that participated in the last challenge, I really appreciate the time and effort you put into it. Without further ado, let's dive into this week's challenge!
Prompt: “The Edge of Danger”
Image generated using Copilot
Danger isn’t always flashing lights and loud alarms. Sometimes, it’s a quiet tension, a feeling in your chest, a line you're afraid (or tempted) to cross. For this prompt, write about danger in any form.
- What does danger look like to you? A person? A place? A feeling?
- Was it external or internal? Were you running from something or toward it?
- How did your body react? Did time slow down, senses sharpen, or did everything blur?
- Did you face it, flee, or fall into it? And what did that choice cost you?
Bonus challenge: Let danger be a character; seductive, violent, misunderstood, or something only you recognize for what it truly is.
Make your words pulse. Let the reader feel the breath catch, the heartbeat rise, the stillness before everything changes.
Thanks for the inspiration, this is what the prompt inspired me to write.
