I really don't know, but I like to think that the ultimate power still lies with the people.
It is backwards, the people delegate power to an organization to help promote their own prosperity for the good of the people, then the organization grows in strength and eventually begin promoting the organization's own prosperity (for the good of their people) and delegate power to people. !BBH

It creates a vicious circle, and as always, the thread is cut at the thinnest point and the people pay the consequences. Another government comes in and history repeats itself.
