Grateful for an Egg-Citing Gift!

Grandma gave us a beautiful gift recently, she came over with a large container full of eggs. Our eyes got wide when we saw this and realized it was a gift for our family. We normally purchase many dozens of eggs every week to keep our family's belly full, but with egg prices rising so quickly, We've been only getting a few per week.

But when we saw the box of FIVE dozen eggs, the children CHEERED!

To celebrate, we made a big batch of hashbrowns and everyone got a delicious egg on top. The reviews were unanimous: THUMBS UP!!!!

What a blessing it is for our family to enjoy eggs again. The simple pleasure in life.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books.

I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

It's a little scary how quickly our family goes through a dozen eggs. !BBH

Years ago we raised our own chickens, it's a commitment and a lot of work!
Nowadays we just buy them in the store, but with the way prices were going for a while..... I can see why people are keeping backyard flocks!😀😇

Considering the high price, a gift of 5 dozens of eggs is indeed a big gift and a great blessings.

Did Grandma buy those or she has many chickens?

It really was a great blessing. A wonderful consideration that she made, we have a lot of mouths and stomachs in this house.

Did Grandma buy those or she has many chickens?

She bought them from Sam's Club. I predict that some day we'll be tending our own chickens and filling our house with eggs gathered everyday. !BBH

That's a very nice family gift indeed! Congratulations, that's wonderful! I'd say make friends with some chickens. They won't charge you extra.😁🙏💚✨🤙

I just suggested to @gratefuleveryday to have some hens in his yard as pets "friends". 🐔😆 !LOLZ !DIY

It would certainly be very useful for his family if they did, though with how large their family is, they would likely need a good flock of them. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

If @gratefuleveryday manages to get a "good flock of hens" in his family's yard, then that means a lot of eggs for his family to enjoy at home (practically) free! 😎😏

Someday, our family will live in a place that allows for a very good flock of hens in our family's yard. We look forward to that day. But for now, we manage however we can. My understanding is that the cost/egg from home-raised hens comes to about $3 - $4 per dozen eggs in feed cost. If I could come up with a free way to feed the chickens, we could enjoy them practically for free!

Thank you for the !WINE (and other tokens) although the bot is picky, WINEX won't activate with the "X" at the end.

I hope that for you and your family, Benjamin. We have lots of chickens here, and I can tell you that they are not picky about food, so you could feed them kitchen scraps to lower costs further. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

We already have a compost pile, bet the chickens would enjoy picking out scraps for food. !BBH

Perhaps you would plant in your yard some corn which you would use to feed chicken (practically free). 🌽🐔🤯 !HOPE !INDEED

Someday, our family will also grow our own feed too, but for now our farm is still off in the distance. !BBH

Hmmm. I wonder if that last !WINEX worked.##

I wonder how many kilometers (approximate) your "distant farm" is where you live. 🤔🤯 Going the distance might be worth it to raise chickens and grow chicken feed (at least once in a while). 🧘‍♂️🤯🤓 !WEIRD !HOPE !INDEED

I wonder what you are referring to with chicken scraps. 🤔 I understood it initially as "bits of chicken"... to feed to chickens. 🤯😆

That chicken scraps phrase indeed looks like a sneak attack from your "keyboard autocorrect" that I didn't recognize right away. 🤯🤣

The phrase chicken scraps is grammatical on your previous comment, so that might mean that your "keyboard autocorrect" improves on making even harder-to-detect "sneak attacks"! 🐔🤯🤣

I wonder if you thought about the possibility of having (organic) hens laying eggs everyday in your yard. 🐔🥚🤓 !HOPE !INDEED !HUG !DIY

I would love egg laying hens for our backyard, but township ordinances requires (besides a permit and $100 in fees) a chicken coop to be 60 feet away from our neighbor's residential structure (home) - our yard is too small to do this.

Someday, we will live in an area where we can raise unlimited chickens without a permit and constrictions.
