Easy Life, Easy Loss

It's a funny thing. I've always known it, we all know it - but sometimes... oftentimes... with hard work, there is good reward.

Working from home allowed for a lot of leniency with the schedule - slept in? No biggie, start at 10:30. Two hour lunch? No big deal. Take an hour off to write a post? Sure, why not!

That was my old schedule, which wasn't really any schedule at all. It was what put my family in financial jeopardy. But I loved my schedule, I loved my precious time with family, I loved my life. But something HAD to change.

Building Work Endurance

Then rewind to last summer, when I began my work rehabilitation. With political "door-knocking", I was paid by the hour. But the more hours during the week, the better the hourly pay was. I began with 4 hour shifts, twice a week. Then three times a week... then 5 or 6 hour shifts. But if doing an eight hour shift, you can get an hour paid for lunch. If I did 5 full days (40 hours), I'd max out the hourly. This brought my 8 hour week up to a 40 hour week!

It took me almost six months to work my way up to this, both physically and mentally. Once I established this healthy habit (40 hour work week), the campaign was over and I was back to doing NOTHING again.

A DREAMY Imaginary Road

After about six months of enjoying my old routines, doing odd computer jobs here and there, it became clear (again) that I needed steady work. My work endurance got soft again and I transferred that energy into blogging and crypto investments. I was convinced that the market was about to explode, I'd sell and be set for the next 10 years.

I was dreaming.

Then the Most High did me a great favor - He allowed my crypto assets to be stolen from me. Anyone following my blog will know that my old "ironshield" account was stolen from me and many years of crypto investments were instantly gone from my control.

It was a wake up call, that all this energy must be put to better use.

Back to Square One

After loosing my crypto, after much community support and love, the time came when I had to get a steady job. I earnestly desired a job from home, but I had discovered something about myself - home is where I play, where I family, where I maintain a home. After over a decade trying, I was never able to make "home" a place for "work".

When I was home for my home business, I was HOME and free with my schedule. When I went to "work" door knocking, it was work. When I was home from door knocking, I was HOME.

So now here I was, looking for a position that allowed me the freedom of making my own schedule, but also would provide steady and reliable income for my family. INSURANCE was at the absolute bottom of the list. Until I realized what certain "insurance" can do.

What is this that I'm offering people?

Without sounding "pitchy", here's what I offer: supplemental insurance that pays cash when a person needs it most. (My little advertisement here)

• A policy that pays the policy holder CASH direct deposited in their bank account in case of a disabling accidental injury (like a car accident), or heart issue (like a heart attack or stroke), or the dreaded "C" word. All based on the INCIDENT or diagnosis, not on the bill.

• No restrictions or questions asked about how CASH is spent, go on vacation for all we care!

• CASH is paid in addition to any other insurance policies (Car, health, etc)

• Policy is guaranteed renewable, only the policy holder can cancel

• Premiums never increase, even with a claim or multiple claims

• No lifetime limit for claims

• ALL premium payments are returned to the policy holder (less any claims), in person, as a big fat paper check, after completing 300 monthly payments. I wish my utility services did this!

I don't know how this can even be called insurance, when they return the payments! It's sort of similar to a "health savings account", only one that isn't limited by the balance (no problem if it goes deep into the red) and pays based on the incident.

Anyway, I consider it an honor and a privilege to offer this to people (only within Michigan, USA).

A new Job, A new Life

I began pursuing a new career with Family Heritage from my resume gaining some attention. I learned about the company, they set reasonable and realistic expectations and I decided to pursue the opportunity. I didn't realize just how much of an opportunity it was at the time, I'm just realizing it now.

This is a job were "work" is in the workplace and "home" is in the homeplace. But I still set my own schedule - however to get the results (income) that I wanted for my family, an 8 hour schedule was needed. Especially starting out.

Work Endurance... AGAIN!

So here I am, building that work endurance.... again! I feel very similar to how I felt when I began door-knocking. Exhausted, struggling with negative thoughts, tired, looking for excuses to not do the work.

But I learned, that's all head trash. Belongs in the garbage.

I know a little secret - just as I didn't enjoy the door knocking at first, I enjoyed it more and more as time went on. This is a preview of how I'm going to feel about 3 or 6 months in, with this position. The biggest difference is that it's not going to suddenly end in 6 months!

I'm going to MASTER this craft and enjoy it very (very) much. Even if I'm away from my family, it's only temporary. My (realistic) goal is that with HARD work, many 8 hour days, I will be able to enjoy both financial security and a RELAXED schedule... at the same time!

This is my dream job: to have income coming in while I enjoy time with my family. And it's achievable in about 3 years of diligent effort. I will have the best of both worlds - financial security and precious time with my family, while my family is still young. My oldest will be 15, my youngest will be 3.

The REAL and Achievable Dream

This is a very different kind of dreaming - it's dreaming based in reality. Not on factors outside of my control. It's realistic goal setting, it's following a well trod path that many have walked before me, not doing anything extraordinary. Simple, but not easy.

Today, I'm in the middle of my THIRD week in. I've had some successes, bunch of zero days, but everyday doing the WORK.

I already achieved a generous bonus for my efforts so far.

I am completely confident that by continuing to "do the work" and put in the 8 hour days, continually improving and learning, something will click, and the entire job will transform into something completely different.

Just like what happened with my previous 6 month temporary job. Going from despising it, to enjoying it. Even being sad it was over.

This is a FINAL job for me, I have no plans to do anything different. Why? Because I found a position that creates something very few careers offer: the ability to set my own schedule, fantastic rewards, and best of all... generational wealth.

Now it's all about balancing the work/home/blog schedule.
