Matthew 16:25 "For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it."

This why it is so hard to come to Christianity. You lose almost everyone that was once in your life.

Then from there if you find your way home to the church Jesus Christ found himself, people usually lose their church friends and often their family.

The life that Jesus was referring to is the old nature of a man which you must be ready to give up to have the new life.

That's why anyone who try to save his life would lose it, because it's already a lost life.

Just to clarify:
He’s talking about the things people cling to for a sense of identity and security: wealth, status, power, comfort. He’s saying that if you make those things your top priority, you’ll end up losing what really matters—your soul, your connection with God, the deeper meaning of life itself.

But if you’re willing to let go of selfish ambitions and instead put Jesus first, you’ll discover a different kind of life—one that’s richer, fuller, and deeply satisfying. It’s a life rooted in purpose, joy, and a relationship with God, not just the temporary things of this world.

Jesus’ message is simple: real life isn’t found in chasing after worldly success, but in surrendering to Him. Those who are willing to let go of the way of the flesh and follow Him will experience something far greater—true, abundant, and eternal life.
