Memories On The Bitter Taste Of Waste, When Food Gets Bad The Memories Remain.

I was really thinking hard to what I would be sharing here today as to throwback Thursdays memories, something we hold dear to ourselves and I stumbled upon something in my gallery that happened to me recently infact this week, the incident kept me thinking for hours or equally days even though it wasn't something big so this was what happened to me.

That morning we got three takeaways filled with fruit salad which was fully prepared and garnished as it cost #1200 per plate, we made noodles that morning and ate it with the fruit salad which we had already blended, we apparently made use of just two plates of the fruit salad and kept the third one in the fridge to be used later on, it was a sweet moment that morning as we ate delicious together after which we carried on with other things, we even went to church that day in the evening and that day was on Tuesday.

We got back from church in the night around 8pm ate bread that night and slept, the next morning when I got up I started cleaning the kitchen and in the sanitation I saw the remaining plate of fruit salad so with a very joyful mind I cleaned everywhere preparing to eat it only to get done with work and found out that the fruit salad has gone really bad that no one could eat it and it would shock you to know that the day before which was on Tuesday when we finish having breakfast, I had a taste of the fruit salad before putting it in fridge and I was tempted to eat more of it.

But this humble me dropped it back to the fridge only to get regrettably news the next morning that it has gone bad, having to throw it away that morning felt heavy before first of all the morning looked big to me as to I was throwing away #1200 in this economy and I was telling myself if I had known I would have just taken enough of it yesterday so it wouldn't have to waste totally today atleast alittle would have been saved. But in all this I learnt something and it was that the presence of condensed milk inside the fruit salad made it spoil easily that was why it went totally bad the next morning, and that should be one of the reason why even the sellers of the fruit salad do not put condensed milk inside unless there is a buyer.

That was such a relatable experience. It’s always sad when food goes to waste, especially when it’s something you were looking forward to eating. At least you learned something new about how condensed milk affects fruit salad. Thanks for sharing this little reminder to enjoy things while they’re still fresh.
