Most Convincing Lie

Some people cannot lie to save their lives, something would just give them away. Could be a facial expression, a body language or a speech pattern, people would immediately see through them. While some others are so good that they may escape a lie detector, lol.

I have not seen nor used a lie detector before but I know that my friend Plan B would easily evade it with multiple lies.
Imagine being nicknamed Plan B, meaning that there's always a backup.

Catching Plan B in a lie takes more than a miracle, yes.

I met Plan B in secondary school, SS1 to be precise. We were all new students who came from different schools to pursue senior secondary education together.
We didn't know ourselves apart from a few people whose former classmates also made the switch.
No one came from Plan B's school and so no one could warn us about the impending danger.

This period coincided with the hiatus between Merlin season 4 and 5. We were all anticipating the season finale just before school resumption but not long after we resumed, Plan B took us on a loooong ride.

He claimed to have watched the final season and proceeded to narrate a very interesting story.
The story was so interesting that not only those of us in the same hostel but even neighbours came to listen.

He talked about How Morgana acquired a dragon and how she defeated Emrys before Emrys bounced back.
He crafted a very interesting story that kept us spell bound deep into the night, more than 20 of us.

But what we did not know was that this guy was just playing with our love for the series.

Funny enough, a few people who missed the story on the first night begged and begged for him to tell the story for their listening pleasure.
He did, and even a few of his past audience could not resist to join in the retelling of the story.

I can't remember most of the details of his version of the story, I just remember how interesting it was and how attentive it made us.

The only time we discovered the lie was when we went back home for mid term break and began to rewatch the movie in our various houses.
It was entirely different from the gist that Plan B had fed us and we could not hide the disappointment when we returned to school after the break.

We queried him and as usual he had something to say, he always has a plan b.
I learnt from that experience to take whatever he says with a pinch of salt and I was glad I did because he happened to also be in my class and was always bringing stories, half of which were untrue but carefully crafted that even the most analytical mind would agree with the flow.

Despite many lies I have been told, this particular one by Plan B will continue to stand out from the rest.
