If Wishes Were Horses...

Houses being an integral part of everyday life means that my eyes are fed with so many houses in a day of going outside. Some houses are so outstanding and magnificent that I wish they belonged to me, if only wishes were horses, lol.

One very interesting house which I really wished was mine was a magnificent building in a very large compound that could serve an estate.
The road leading up to the house was about 3 to 5 minutes drive from the gate, you can imagine that.
Unfortunately, it was the house of a politician and we had to submit our phones at the gate, so I could not get the chance to snap a picture.

Let me try to describe.
The house has a mixture of royalty and recent foreign designs with a parapet all through the edges of the roof. The roofing sheet was hidden by an elevated brick wall which was continuous with the house.
The floor was tied with great care, from end to end with a focus at the middle of the sit out. There was a similar floor design inside the sitting room with a giant TV that decorated a screeded wall.

The ceiling was of a carefully crafted design and a high quality but I don't know the name of the material used. A series of fancy lights dangled from the roof illuminating and beautifying the sitting room.

From where I sat in the living room, I could see the dining room demarcated from the parlour by an exquisite glass door with a gold coloured frame. The dining table and chairs had golden or gold coated edges.

It's been over two years but I still remember the house fondly. The amount of money that went into the house would have been too much for most people but I guess it's easier when the money is coming from public funds.

Personally, I like simple designs in a building but my love for nature means that no matter how big or small my house is, I need a large compound to plant some flowers and trees.

I prefer a duplex with a simple but elegant design. If possible, a swimming pool should be in my compound but that's when I must have learnt how to swim.

The house would then ultimately and most importantly have a big balcony upstairs from where I can look into the evening while relaxing and listening to my favourite songs or discussing with my favourite person(s).

I will get there, but till then, I need to stop wishing and continue working.
