Remembering "Los Amigos"
Hello guys
I´m joining to the Travelfeed Hive contest. A place I definetely what to revisit its the "Los Amigos" ranch in the Sontecomapan Lake. Veracruz México.
As you can see visit this place is the closest thing to paradise you can get to know in life. I was there for a breve period last year and i had a fantastic time, I definetely recomend to go there if you have the chance.
The place has it all, There is a place to chill close to the lake, you can take a bath in the lake if you whant too. Or, if you are the hiking type you can go to the near by forest, there you can enjoy a very rich and astonishing tropical forest.
If what you what its just relax in a palapa by the lake, there you have it. They also offer yoga class, and if you are into purifing your body, they also have a temazcal you can use.
They also have a very beautiful outside dinning room and I can´t start to tell you about their food. Everything tastes amazing there, the flavors are very strong, spicy and somehow sweet at the same time. As I just tell you every dish there its amazing, but I of couse have some favorites. Sauces are incredible, just be carefull if you are not used to spicy food, afther all its México right?. There are two other thing I particularly enjoyed, one where the quesadillas. Why? well, they are made with their own hand made cheese, and their own hand made tortillas, so it can´t get more natural than that, And I feel like everything tasted exactly like it should be, without additives or any of the things city food usually contains.
My second favorites where the fried ripe plantains, this where for a very personal reason. As I was a kid growing up in Cuba, my mom would cook fried ripe plantains for dinner every other day, so for my this dish has a load of nostalgia, it tasted like home.
Back to what "Los Amigos" can offer, if you are into agroturism, you can do it there to afther all, "Los Amigos" its a ranch, so they have cattle, some tropical fruit tree cultivation and bambú plantations for their own homemade carpentry.
However there are some things you should be aware and prepare for. First I strongly recomendo not to visit in somertime unless you are very fong of hot climate, keep in ming that this is a tropical site, so its will be very hot and humid. And as it is an ecoturist facility, they dont use air conditioner.
Second issue to keep in mind, as you can imagine from a coastal tropical place, there can be some bugs, not just mosquitoes, so bring you very strong repellent and try not to sit on the ground, specially in places with grass.
Other than that the place is amazing and it has it all for you to enjoy a very nice and invigorating vacations.
See yah all in the next post.
