I've always avoided being involved in sales for as long as I could remember.

I was once in purchasing and I kind of felt bad for the people in sales who would pitch to me on a regular basis. It just seemed like a lot of work for mostly no payoff for most of them. The people I have met that were really good at sales basically had no shame and were willing to put themselves in potentially embarrassing situations and do things like cold calling or just downright bothering people to try to make a new sale. I get that it probably isn't like that for all of them but these jobs were just never something that appealed to me.
