When The Wind Whispered A Warning

Back then, my whole time when I was sitting with my parents, there were so many beliefs that were flying around us.

So many superstitious beliefs we see in our everyday life. The old ones keep telling us about some beliefs that they think is real. I used to think most of these were just cook-up stories to scare children and to make them live in fear or to allow children to behave well and not take things for granted. Until I had one experience that changed my life completely.

It was just a faithful Monday morning. I was just preparing and packing my bags to go back to school in the city. Everything seemed okay my mother has already prepared my food stuff which I'll be taking back to school. My father gave me money as usual and the advice he has to give me to behave well at, school to listen to my lecturers, to make good friends and to also focus on my book and make good grades.

When I stepped out of the compound and I was about entering the motorcycle that would take me to where I would take a bus back to the city, I saw our black cat. The cat was just in the middle of the path and it kept staring at me eyes locked on me without blinking.

It was odd I've never seen such a thing from a cat before. The cat has never come close to me especially during the morning time. That was so much strange. The cat just stared without blinking and all of a sudden it hissed again and ran to the bush.

I thought it was just normal and continued on my journey I never knew it was something serious. Oh I just thought the cat was missing me or it was just acting dramatic. But can you imagine after taking a bus while on my way to the city, it was barely twenty minutes when the driver was about to cut through a sharp bend corner, and just as we were about to descend on the cut corner all of a sudden a tyre burst, a tyre busted.

The driver lost control and when we and all of us screamed inside the bus we almost stumbled off into a shallow ditch. But the good news is that nobody died but so many sustained heavy injuries. Mine was my leg, my kneecap and my elbow. I can't say if that day it was a miracle that we all survived.

As I was sitting on the roadside my heart was pounding and my mind sudden walked to that black cat and I thought to myself, could it have been an Omen? I also told those around me and they said yes, it might be an Omen. It was a sign that something will happen in the future.

That cat gave me a sign. The one thing I should have listened to. From that day that incident happened and moved me ever since. I started paying attention to signs around me. Especially those little things we usually ignore.

In our culture we Something will always show you a sign before it happens and it is true. Maybe it may be from a dream or from an animal or just something around you. Or just a feeling, a sudden feeling which most of us usually think is Muslim.

The universe or God shows true nature, finds a way to warn us ahead of danger. That is why we need to listen. Now I don't fear women but I live with awareness. Sometimes some things may not have any explanation but it doesn't mean that it's not real or it doesn't happen.

Sometimes what we call superstition is just wisdom in that old fashion. So the next time something odd happens, don't try to brush it off. Listen, pay attention, give attention, give details to what happens to you is the universe that is whispering to you, who knows?
