The Compass of My Life: Patience, Relationships, and Virtue // LOH #251
We cannot scale through life without using compass that guides us. Our values is what makes us relevant and respected in our society. So, for me, the values I've built my life with is patience, relationships, and virtue. These values have shaped the way I see life. They are not just values I formulated. They are what I practice daily and they have guided me in my day-to-day life.
The first value is patience. We know life moves very fast. This moment we are a kid, the next time we are an adult, and before we blink our eyes, we are already getting old. So, sometimes it's very tempting to rush some decisions in our life and we in turn get frustrated when we don't get the result that we expected. But one thing I've learned is that the good things we are seeking for always take time. And we must be patient to work hard enough and wait for the right time for it to manifest.
Patience is very important and it's what keeps me steady in life, always having faith in myself and believing that with time things will fall in place. Sometimes we embark on a project that has deadlines. Sometimes we want to rush or procrastinate. But patience is not about procrastinating the hard work, you have to keep doing the work and see waiting for the time for the hard work to manifest properly instead of rushing to get the results easily.
The next one on my list is relationships. I believe that people can be engaged in their own lives or share their own, People who surround ourselves with it are what impact our lives the most. Our family, our friends, the strangers, the people we meet in life are what determine the quality of our life also. So, I also prioritize building these strong connections with others.
Showing up for your friends, helping others get back on their feet. Showing love to others, sharing their joy and pain. Relationship is the proper guidance to choose. It's about choosing love over pride or being proud of yourself only. Letting go of grudges and embracing the weakness of others even though we know no one is perfect.
The final one is virtue. This is like our background. It's about doing the right thing, no matter what, even when it feels hard. You can be honest with the situation, stand up for what you think is right. It's not about being perfect or trying to be perfect all the time but it's about striving to become the person that you'll be proud of. It's not about being perfect or trying to be perfect all the time but it's about striving to become the person that you'll be proud of and not be ashamed to talk about or be presented of all these values patience is the toughest.
These are the ones that resonate deeply to me and I hold very daily these values are what guides me throughout my life, they have inspired me to become the best of who I am. As humans you need to have values that surround and guide your life so that you can achieve your goal at a given point in time.

These are very strong values, and I agree with you. Patience can be a difficult one to practice, especially in this age of instant demand and gratification, but when it is not the right time, we will only end up more frustrated. Patience is key!
Thank you for sharing this, enjoy your weekend 🙏
Nowadays it is difficult for many to stay calm, the ideal is to persevere and wait for the adequate result of the effort that the projects entail, the values you describe are very valuable,

Turning down opportunities that don’t align with your values, pushing through fatigue to keep studying and choosing kindness even when it is not easy, that is strength you can’t fake and admitting that perseverance is the hardest one?
