When Hustle Meets my Body

If there is another name we Nigerians can be called, it will definitely be hustlers, because there is nowhere on this planet that you will not see a Nigerian hustling if you see one there. We get home very late, and then the next day we are already up as quick as possible for us not to get to work late. We do things that will stress us out, and still, in our minds ,we tell ourselves that everything is okay. There was a time someone almost made me believe that resting is for lazy people, but thank God I did not put that in mind.

I remember one time like that when I was still in school; there was this semester that I gave myself no rest, from class to hostel to library to night class, then eating junk with no proper exercise. One particular day, my body refused to function even though I was already in class that morning, and before I knew it, I found myself in my school clinic, and before I knew it again, two injections had already entered my bum-bum. From that day, I was being instructed to rest properly and not stress myself at all, and that became a wake-up call for me, even though I had work to do but I was not physically strong enough to do it.

Ever since that incident, I have adjusted myself to learn how to balance my work life with my resting time. Now, when my body is doing one kind, I stop for a bit of rest and then continue later. I take a stroll around my compound and indulge in some morning exercises, and then I eat good food and sleep when necessary. I no longer deny nature what is necessary.

A lot of people now are not paying attention to how much they stress themselves because of all the bills ahead, and the one thing I know about stress is that it accumulates until it breaks out one day. And when the body shuts down, it can be even more brutal than we expect because it will affect a lot of things around us.

However, I will always say that balancing everything is the key we need when it comes to our body and hustling, and even the Bible says that there is time for everything on earth. We should always find a time to rest after work that is the only way you and I can continue to survive.

Thank you for reading.

If you fail to listen to your body when it calls for rest, you will definitely learn the hard way. Imagine taking injections for a problem rest and food could've solved. We're hustlers but we should also prioritize our well being.

Rightly put, there's time for everything.
And truly, dometimes we are nearly convinced to believe that rest is for a lazy man.
I am happy that the experience at school did not degenerate into something sinister but vecame a ladder with which you crossed to a better height in taking care of your health.
Thanks for sharing .
