The Seeds We Water
I have heard parents say that anything we do in front of our kids stays in their minds forever, and some even act on those things. Our words may not last long, but these young kids usually watch and study our actions so closely. And these kids are like a garden; it is what we plant in them that will germinate.
You know, when you plant something, you can never harvest what you do not plant, and this is why you see some kids who look so violent, some who are reserved, and some who are gentle; it all depends on the homes they come from, and this is what I can say. But the reality of the matter is that, when we were born, we were in-between the good and the bad because some of the characters some of us exhibit are from our upbringing and what we acquired from the society.

If you were from my country, you would probably understand this better because I have seen some unimaginable things. I have seen a situation where the son of a top pastor in a popular church turned wayward right immediately he got admission, and I have seen a child whose parents were unbelievers doing good things in the society, even more than I can ever imagine.
Yes, some might say it was peer pressure that usually affects some of these kids, or some were just trying to look so perfect that they lost themselves. And like I said earlier, peer pressure has a great impact on some, and some of us have decided not to be moved an inch no matter what pressure says. Sometimes, it is an act of discipline not to go the wrong way.
I am an architect, and sometimes I tend to picture our lives as that of a building. Like I usually tell some of my colleagues, even the house with the strongest foundation might not be able to withstand some kind of harsh atmospheric pressure if the materials that are used to build the house are not of good quality. And that applies to our lives as humans too. Some of the things we experience and face in life totally change our perspective and character.

A kid might be shown proper care, love, patience, accountability, anger, perseverance, and some other attributes, but these things depend on if that kid is truly shown how to love and care. And like I said earlier, kids learn fast by the actions we show them. Imagine a kid that grows up in a family that prays every morning and does things together; then such a kid will not totally depart from such actions if he grows up.
Now looking at this from my point of view, if characters are truly inherited or being taught. I will say both. And one thing I know for sure is that what we turn out to be depends on the seed planted in us and the ones we allow to spring out. So, some things totally depend on who we truly are.

Yes , kid learn from what we do. Have you seen kids that play your character when they are playing that is when I know that they watched what elders are doing.
Exactly...some even tends to walk like you sometimes
They learn so fast
Nice write up Dave.
This is a very good example, you definitely sow what you reap, if you raise a child negatively, you would definitely reap a negative child.
Thanks for sharing.
Yes dear... that is just the fact
You can't plan mango and harvest yam
